Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless station (STA) (for example, an access point (AP) or a non-AP STA) may transmit a message to one or more STAs in a multiple basic service set (BSS) system that indicates one or more distributed resource units (RUs) for the STAs to use for communications, in which each distributed RU includes a respective set of tones interspersed within a channel bandwidth such that tones of different BSSs are interleaved. For example, a coordinating STA may indicate respective distributed RUs assigned to each BSS, and may communicate with the STAs using tones of the distributed RUs for the BSS supported by the coordinating STA. In some other examples, a STA may indicate occupied distributed RUs and a permission condition to another STA, such that the other STA may use unoccupied distributed RUs for communications in accordance with the permission condition.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for reducing PAPR in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to single-carrier frequency-division multiplexing (SC-FDM) techniques that can be used for wireless communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In some aspects, a wireless communication device may modulate a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) as a series of symbols in the time domain and may transform a subset of the time-domain symbols into a number (Q) of frequency-domain samples based on a Q-point discrete Fourier transform (DFT). The wireless communication device maps the Q frequency-domain samples to a number (N) of orthogonal subcarriers (representing an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol), where N>Q, and transforms the N subcarriers into N time-domain samples, based on an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), for transmission over a wireless channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communication, and particularly, methods, devices and systems for including signaling regarding enhanced features of new wireless communication protocols. The signaling may be included in various portions of a physical layer preamble of a wireless transmission. In some implementations, the physical layer preamble may be used to indicate puncturing of subbands or content channels that may carry further signaling in accordance with preamble signaling designs of this disclosure. The physical layer preamble signaling be parallelized for different subchannels of a wireless channel that consists of multiple subchannels. Some implementations of the physical layer preambles may be used to multiplex different types of wireless local area network communications into different subsets of the plurality of subchannels of the wireless channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support a 20 MHz station (STA) parked on a secondary channel. Without the described techniques, mechanisms to support secondary channel operation may be unable to receive management frames or broadcast traffic from an access point (AP), which may cause the STA to lose synchronization with the AP, miss a channel change or other critical announcement from the AP, etc. Considerations for providing such information to STAs parked on a secondary channel are discussed. In some examples, an AP may restrict resource unit allocation to the secondary channel on which the STA is parked. In some cases, a trigger-based random access mechanism may utilize aspects of the present disclosure to limit access to certain resource units to STAs on a given secondary channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for data parsing for resource unit (RU) aggregation. A wireless communication device (such as an access point (AP) or a station (STA)) may allocate a set of resource units (RUs) for a receiving device in a basic service set (BSS). The set of RUs may be associated with multiple bandwidth segments of a bandwidth allocation and may be non-contiguous or contiguous. The wireless communication device may determine a data parsing and encoding scheme for a set of information bits. In some implementations, the encoded bits may be distributed to the set of RUs based on a distance to tone mapping value or pilot tone location or both of the aggregated set of RUs different than respective values or pilot tone locations of the RUs in the aggregated set of RUs.

An expected air time parameter may be used as a parameter for estimating throughput. The expected air time parameter may be indicative of an estimated air time fraction obtainable for communications using an access point (AP), for example, between a wireless station (STA) and the AP. Either the expected air time parameter or an estimated air time fraction determined (e.g., calculated) from the expected air time parameter may be transmitted from the AP to the STA (or other communication device) to allow the STA (or other communication device) to determine an estimated throughput for communications using the AP.

Abstract: A method of adjusting single-stream transmissions by a wireless device based on channel state information (CSI). The wireless device generates a sounding packet formatted for transmission via multiple spatial streams, and transmits the sounding packet to a receiving device via a single one of the multiple spatial streams. For example, the wireless device may be a single-antenna device. The wireless device further receives channel state information (CSI) from the receiving device based at least in part on the sounding packet. The wireless device then adjusts one or more characteristics of single-stream transmissions to the receiving device based at least in part on the received CSI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communications. A wireless station includes a transmitter to generate a wideband contiguous waveform in a band. The transmitter transmits the waveform that conforms to spectral masking attributes and spectral flatness attributes. The wireless station, or another device supporting spectrum analysis functions, detects a wideband contiguous waveform and performs spectrum analysis of the waveform. The wireless station includes a resolution bandwidth of 25 KHz and a video bandwidth of 7.5 KHz.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. More particularly, an access point may assign a channel weighting factor to each channel in a candidate channel list. The access point may identify an attribute of a radar signal detected on a current operating channel. The access point may adjust, based at least in part on the identified attribute, the channel weighting factor assigned to a channel of the candidate channel list adjacent to the current operating channel.
