The first transceiver is configurable by the controller to support first communications through a cellular network to at least one of a packet-based network and a circuit-switched network. The second transceiver configurable by the controller to operate with the first transceiver to support first communications through the cellular network in a first mode and support second communications through an access point to the packet-based network in a second mode. In an aspect, the second transceiver is further configured to switch from the first mode to the second mode by moving its wireless connection from the cellular network to the access point while maintaining a network-layer connection to the cellular network.

    摘要: An apparatus for wireless communication obtains a first metric of a cell based on signals received by a WWAN radio tuned to a common frequency, and a second metric of the cell based on signals received by a WLAN radio tuned to the common frequency. The apparatus determines a calibration factor based on the first and second metrics, and performs cell search and cell measurement based on the calibration factor and signals received by the WLAN radio tuned to a target frequency. The common frequency may be a serving frequency of the WWAN, in which case the first and second metrics are one of frequency or power metrics and the calibration factor is one of a frequency offset and a power offset. The common frequency may also be a target frequency for inter-frequency measurements of the WWAN, in which case the calibration factor is based primarily on power measurements.

A received signal is received at a receiver chain, where the received signal is interfered by an aggressor signal transmitted using a transmitter chain. In particular, management of the allocation of resources when such resources are determined to be constrained may be implemented at the access terminal itself, for example, by reducing a requested bandwidth corresponding to at least one application flow from among a plurality of application flows. In this way, the superior information available to the access terminal regarding the demands and capabilities of the individual applications can be taken into account. Thus, multiple concurrently running applications competing for common limited resources may achieve a satisfactory level of service or QoS, resulting in an enhanced user experience.

For example, a “win-win” scenario might exist when a sharing opportunity at a low-power base station overlaps with a sharing opportunity at the neighboring macrocell. During this overlap, when the low-power base station provides access to its air interface to one or more UEs outside of a set of UEs associated with the low-power base station, an incentive credit may be received. Incentive credits can take various forms, and in some examples, may be in an amount that is a function of an amount of contribution to the network resulting from the provision of access to the air interface.
