Abstract: A mobile device is disclosed. The mobile device may receive one or more wireless local area network (WLAN) signals. The mobile device may determine Channel State Information (CSI) data from the one or more WLAN signals. The mobile device may determine one or more environmental characteristics associated with an environment of the mobile device based on the CSI data. The mobile device may send information indicative of the one or more environmental characteristics to a location server (LS), or determine a position of the mobile device based at least in part on the one or more environmental characteristics, or any combination thereof.

In one example, a method includes receiving a first image from an image sensor captured with a first field of view (FOV) and comprising a first plurality of pixels, receiving a second image from the image sensor captured with a second FOV and comprising a second plurality of pixels, determining an ROI in the second image, the ROI comprising a subset of the second plurality of pixels in the second image, determining an ROI weight for the ROI in the second image, determining statistics based on the first plurality of pixels in the first image, the subset of the second plurality of pixels in the second image, and the ROI weight for the ROI in the second image, and adjusting a gain or exposure setting for the image sensor based on the statistics.

Abstract: A method and apparatus facilitate securing access to applications. An apparatus includes a touch-sensitive display configured to display a plurality of objects representing a plurality of applications, the touch-sensitive display configured to receive a selection of a first object of the plurality of objects representing a first application of the plurality of applications. The apparatus also includes an authentication module coupled to the display. The authentication module is configured to receive biometric data in response to the selection of the first object, compare the received biometric data to a biometric template, and generate a match signal upon a determination that the received biometric data matches the biometric template. The apparatus also includes a processor configured to prevent access to the first application before the match signal is received, and enable access to the first application in response to the receipt of the match signal.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for adjusting settings for capturing images. For instance, a method for adjusting settings for capturing images is provided. The method may include receiving a first frame from an image sensor; determining that the first frame is overexposed based on the first frame including a brightness value greater than a threshold; adjusting image-capture settings of the image sensor for a plurality of frames such that each frame of the plurality of frames is captured using a different exposure setting of a plurality of exposure settings; comparing at least one frame of the plurality of frames to the threshold to determine an anchor frame from the plurality of frames, wherein the anchor frame includes a brightness value below the threshold; and adjusting the image-capture settings of the image sensor based on an exposure setting of the anchor frame.
