Abstract: A power supply system includes a housing having a top cover with a cutout portion formed near a rear end thereof. The cutout portion is configured to mechanically receive, one at a time, either a first bracket or a second bracket to be coupled to the top cover. The first bracket is configured to accommodate a first power supply component. The second bracket is configured to accommodate a second power supply component of a different type than the first power supply component. Each of the first bracket and the second bracket has a length and/or a width greater than a length and a width, respectively, of the cutout portion. Each of the first power supply component and the second power supply component is either a conventional power supply unit, or a busbar adapter sled configured to electrically connect with a busbar cable that supplies power from a remote power source.

Abstract: A carrier for solid state devices includes a plurality of panels, at least one gate, and an addition. The plurality of panels includes a first panel, a second panel, and a third panel. The at least one gate is attached to the second panel and the third panel. The at least one gate is configured to be in one of a first position or a second position. When the at least one gate is in the first position, an opening for receiving solid state devices is at least partially occluded to a first width that is smaller than a length of one of the solid state devices. When the at least one gate is in the second position, the opening for receiving the solid state devices is increased to a second width that is larger than the length of the one of the solid state devices.

Abstract: A front-access chassis for storage drives can be configured to store different drives in different orientations in a single group of drives. For example, drives in a disk group can be installed with two vertical drives followed immediately by four horizontal drives. Each chassis can include multiple disk groups. Thus, drives with certain functions can be easily and readily identified based on orientation. For example, system drives may be installed vertically whereas storage drives may be installed horizontally, permitting a user to quickly identify a desired drive at a glance.
