    Abstract: A control body is coupled or coupleable with a cartridge that is equipped with a heating element and contains an aerosol precursor composition, the control body and cartridge forming an aerosol delivery device. The control body includes a control component to control the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. An input device including a capacitive sensor is configured to detect a user input. And the input device or control component controls operation of at least one functional element of the control body, cartridge or aerosol delivery device in response to the user input so detected. In another aspect, a cartridge may include a input device including a capacitive sensor to detect a user input, and operation of functional element(s) may be controlled in response to thereto.

    Abstract: A system for testing and validating the performance of a pressure sensor includes a test fixture operatively connected to the pressure sensor, and the pressure sensor is configured to identify a fluid pressure relative to an atmospheric pressure. A microcontroller is in electrical communication with the test fixture and the pressure sensor, and the microcontroller is configured to cause the test fixture to introduce air and/or vapor through the pressure sensor at a known fluid pressure. The microcontroller is also configured to receive the identified fluid pressure from the pressure sensor, the identified fluid pressure being based on the air and/or vapor flowing through the pressure sensor. A power source is in electrical communication with the microcontroller, and a display is in electrical communication with the microcontroller. The display is configured to display results to a user, the results comprising the determination of the performance of the pressure sensor.

    Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes a housing defining a reservoir configured to retain aerosol precursor composition. The aerosol delivery device also includes a plurality of electronic components interconnected by or connected to one or more conductors, and these electronic components include a heating element, a control component and a Hall effect current sensor. The control component is configured to operate in an active mode in which the control component is configured to control the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. The Hall effect current sensor is positioned proximate a conductor of the one or more conductors, and configured to measure to a current through the conductor. And the control component is configured to control operation of at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device in response to the current so measured.

    Abstract: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes a substrate configured to carry an aerosol precursor composition, and includes an induction transmitter, induction receiver and control component. The induction transmitter is configured to generate an oscillating magnetic field. The induction receiver is positioned in proximity to the substrate, and configured to generate heat when exposed to the oscillating magnetic field and thereby vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. The control component is configured to direct current to the induction transmitter to drive the induction transmitter to generate the oscillating magnetic field, with the control component being configured to direct the current according to a zero voltage switching (ZVS) inverter topology.
