    摘要: A process for the preparation of toner comprising mixing a colorant containing a surfactant and a latex emulsion, and wherein the latex emulsion contains resin and a nonionic hydrolyzable surfactant, and wherein said surfactant is of the Formulas (I) or (II), or optionally mixtures thereof ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrophobic aliphatic, or hydrophobic aromatic group; R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, and alkylarylalkyl; R.sup.3 is hydrogen or alkyl; A is a hydrophilic polymer chain, and m represents the number of A segments; heating below about the resin latex glass transition temperature, followed by the addition of an anionic stabilizer, thereafter heating above about the resin glass transition temperature, and adjusting the pH of the resulting mixture of resin and colorant particles suspended in an aqueous phase containing anionic surfactant, cationic surfactant and nonionic hydrolyzable surfactant, wherein said pH is increased from about 1.7 to about 2.5 to about 6 to about 12 by adding a base during the heating above about said resin glass transition temperature wherein coalescence is being accomplished.

    摘要: A toner process which comprises mixing(i) a colorant dispersion, and a(ii) a nonionic surfactant, an ionic surfactant or mixtures thereof, with(iii) a latex comprised of resin and a mixture of anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant;(iv) heating the resulting blend of (iii) about equal to, or below about the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the resin; and(v) optionally adding additional anionic surfactant to the resulting aggregated suspension of (iv);(vi) heating the resulting mixture of (v) about equal to, or above about the Tg of the resin and(vii) isolating the toner.

    摘要: A process for the preparation of carrier particles which comprises mixing a dispersion of water, submicron magnetic particles, and ionic surfactant with a latex comprised of resin particles suspended in an aqueous solution containing a surfactant that is counterionic in charge to said ionic surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant; thereafter heating the resulting mixture below about the latex resin glass transition temperature (Tg) while stirring to form aggregates, followed by increasing the temperature of said mixture to about above the latex resin Tg, and subsequently adding additional counterionic or nonionic surfactant solution to minimize, or avoid any further growth in particle size during heating of the mixture about above the latex resin Tg, and wherein said resin Tg is in the range of from between about 45.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C.
