    摘要： Flame-retardant compositions of a polyvinyl chloride resin, a polyolefin, and a flame retardant are disclosed. The compositions are essentially free of plasticizers from the group consisting of: citrates; non-halogenated phthalates (e.g., di-2-ethyl-hexyl, di-n-octyl, dioctyl, diisooctyl, diisodecyl, dibutyl, dihexyl, or diheptylnonyl); bisphthalates; benzoates; trimellitates; pyromellitates; azelates; polymeric plasticizers based on adipic, azelaic, or sebacic acids and glycols such as ethylene, propylene, and butylene, with either alcohol or monobasic acid termination (e.g., benzoate diester of 2,2,4-trimethyl pentanediol or triethylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate); epoxies; esters of dibasic acids (e.g., aliphatic ester adipates such as dioctyl adipate, aliphatic ester sebacates such as dioctyl sebacate); alkyl sulfonate esters; aliphatic hydrocarbons; aromatic hydrocarbons; alkylated aromatic hydrocarbons; butyl phthalyl butyl glycollate; isobutyrate; dipentaerythritol esters; and combinations thereof. The compositions possess good flame retardancy, as well as good mechanical properties and good low temperature flexibility.

    摘要： A compatibilizer including a first portion compatible with a fluoropolymer and a second portion compatible with a polyolefin. Compatibilized compositions comprising a polyolefin, a fluoropolymer, and a compatibilizer are also disclosed. Methods for forming both the compatibilizer and the blends contained in the compatibilizer are described. The compatibilized compositions of the present invention exhibit desired mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation. The flame retarded compatibilized blends exhibit desirable dielectric properties, are flame resistant and exhibit low smoke emission.

    摘要： Toughened thermoplastic compositions comprising a thermoplastic polymer toughened by the inclusion of a thermoplastic elastomer derived from a particulate rubber dynamically vulcanized in the presence of a matrix polymer. The toughened thermoplastic composition exhibits properties including toughness, improved impact resistance, and improved hardness. The compositions are utilized wherever toughened, high performance polymers are desired. A method for forming the toughened polymer compositions is also described. Processing methods, such as rotational molding, utilizing the toughened polymer compositions are described.

The compositions are essentially free of liquid plasticizers, and prossess good mechanical properties of tensile strength, elongation, and a low brittle point, even after being subjected to high heat for an extended period of time.
