摘要: The specification discloses an apparatus and method for treating a slurry containing sodium sesquisulfate to recover sulfate and acid constituents therefrom. The apparatus includes a treatment vessel having a separation wall delineating a clarifying zone and a mixing zone. Slurry containing sesquisulfate crystals is introduced into the mixing zone along with water and the material is mixed to promote dissolution of the crystals and formation of sodium sulfate solids. Sodium sulfate solids are collected in a lower portion of the treatment vessel and conveyed out of the vessel, and liquid from the clarifying zone is conducted from an upper end of the treatment vessel to a conventional liquid processing unit. Treatment of a sesquisulfate-containing slurry in accordance with the invention provides sodium sulfate containing little or no sesquisulfate crystals thereby reducing the need for vacuum filtration or other expensive separation techniques to recover sulfuric acid and sodium sulfate solids from the slurry.

摘要: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for error-compensated counting of Hall states for motor position feedback and/or commutation. An indicated Hall state is detected by digital Hall state sensors and a duration of the Hall state is compared to a specified time period. When the duration exceeds the specified time period, the indicated Hall state is compared to one or more valid Hall states and a position counter is changed for valid states. When the indicated Hall state is invalid, the position counter is not changed. The Hall state sensors may be connected to logic means and may detect the position of a rotor of a permanent magnet motor relative to a stator. When noise induces a change in an indicated Hall state, corresponding noise-induced effects on the position counter may be may be removed through error-compensated counting.

摘要: Formaldehyde and/or methylal are made by the electrooxidation of methanol in an apparatus which is divided into the anode compartment and the cathode compartment by a cationic membrane made of a fluoropolymer and having pendant fluorosulfonyl or sulfonic acid groups, which is coated on one side with platinum applied by the impregnation-reduction method, said coating serving as the anode. The cathode may be a metal layer on the opposite side of the membrane or a separate metal cathode. When the separate metal cathode is employed, the cathode compartment contains a liquid electrolyte, which is a concentrated inorganic acid, preferably phosphoric acid. Within specifically identified temperature ranges, the yield of formaldehyde and of methylal can be optimized by controlling the mole fraction or partial pressure of methanol feed.
