Abstract: A motor controller for a pump motor is provided. The motor controller includes an input device and a memory configured to store a plurality of actuation sequences and a plurality of commands. Each actuation sequence is associated with a command. The motor controller further includes a processor coupled to the input device, the memory, and the pump motor. The processor is configured to detect at the input device, a first actuation sequence in response to the input device being actuated. The processor is further configured to perform a lookup in the memory to determine a first command corresponding to the first actuation sequence. The processor is further configured to operate the pump motor according to the first command.

Abstract: An electric motor is provided. The electric motor includes a motor controller configured to convert AC power to a variable frequency variable voltage power for driving the electric motor according to a commanded motor output. The motor controller includes a PFC circuit configured to control a power factor of the electric motor and a microcontroller coupled to the PFC circuit and configured to activate the PFC circuit when the commanded motor output is greater than a threshold motor output, deactivate the PFC circuit when the commanded motor output is less than or equal to the threshold motor output, and generate a control signal based on the commanded motor output. The motor controller further includes an inverter configured to receive the control signal and generate the variable frequency variable voltage power according to the commanded motor output.

Abstract: An electric motor for a pump includes an AC line-in node for receiving AC power supplied to the electric motor. The electric motor includes a current sensor coupled to the AC line-in node and measures current supplied to the electric motor. The electric motor includes a motor controller configured to convert the AC power supplied to a variable frequency variable voltage power for driving the electric motor at a normal output value. The motor controller includes a microcontroller and an inverter. The microcontroller is coupled to the current sensor and receives a measured value of the current supplied to the electric motor, determines the measured value is above a threshold, and transmits a control signal representing a reduced output value. The inverter receives the control signal and generates the variable frequency variable voltage power to reduce output from the electric motor according to the reduced output value.
