    摘要: Describes apparatus for dispensing a sanitizing chemical into a swimming pool. The apparatus is a container having a closed bottom, a lid with a dispensing opening, and a plate with colored markings that is larger than the dispensing opening and freely moveable vertically resting on the bottom of the container. The plate has a specific gravity of less than 1.0. In operation, the container is filled with solid sanitizing chemical, e.g., calcium hypochlorite, and placed in a skimmer basket associated with the pool. When the sanitizing chemical is completely dissolved by water pumped through the skimmer basket and recycled to the pool, the plate floats to the top of the container where it can be observed readily to indicate that the apparatus needs to be refilled with sanitizing chemical.

    摘要: Describes a chemical feeder that supplies treating agents, e.g., calcium hypochlorite, to a liquid stream, e.g., an aqueous stream. The chemical feeder is operated in a substantially flooded condition to provide a useful and safe pressure feeder, and optionally uses cyclonic flow to be relatively self-cleaning. One or more tablet canisters are utilized within the substantially flooded interior of the chemical feeder, and expose the lowermost tablets to the turbulent flow outside of the tablet canister. A substantially uniform chemical distribution rate over tablet life is provided by the chemical feeder.

    摘要: An apparatus for dissolving and delivering a solution of a solid chemical material, such as calcium hypochlorite, is described. The apparatus includes in combination: a container, a lid removably mounted on the upper end of the container, and a housing. In operation, the lid is mounted on the container, which contains solid chemical material, and both are inverted and placed on top of the housing. A nozzle within the housing extends through a hole in the lid into the internal space of the container such that dissolving fluid is charged into the container through the nozzle where it contacts the solid chemical material. A solution of chemical material is formed within the container and the solution drains through additional holes formed in the lid and is removed from the housing to a point of use.

    摘要: A chemical feeder that produces a solution of a chemical treating agent, e.g., calcium hypochlorite, is described. The chemical feeder comprises a housing (22) having a base (36), side wall (20) extending upwardly from the base, and a closed upper end (28), all of which define a cavity (2). An elongated substantially vertical hollow container (10) is centrally located within the cavity. The bottom of the side wall (12) of the container is adjacent to the base, and contains a plurality of perforations 14 in the lower portion of the side wall, which is spaced from the inside side wall of the housing. At least one hollow canister (40) having a plurality of perforations (47, 49) in its base and the lower portion of its side wall is interposed, e.g., slidably received, within the container. Conduits for delivering liquid (32) in which the chemical treating agent is soluble to a chamber (5) below the perforations in the canister and for removing a liquid stream (30) containing the chemical treating agent from the feeder are also provided.

First opening 36 of valve casing 42 is in fluid communication with opening 33 in base 87 of housing 11, and feeder opening 84 of fluid conduit 69 is in fluid communication with second opening 39 of valve casing 42. Fluid both enters and leaves chamber 12 through principal opening 33 in base 87 of housing 11.
