Abstract:
This invention relates to a self-contained, portable apparatus for admixing a plurality of liquids. The liquids, generally a diluent (such as water or an organic solvent), together with dilutable liquid chemical concentrates such as pesticides, fertilizers, and the like, are automatically proportioned and blended together to produce a resultant mixture, with controlled dispensing of the resultant mixture. The apparatus, which may be hand carried, is preferably powered by a battery source that is operatively connected to a positive-displacement pump. Such positive-displacement pump draws the liquids into the pump, utilizing the pump vacuum force, mixes the liquids in the pump chamber or housing, and thereafter discharges the resultant mixture from the apparatus, utilizing a suitable dispensing device.
Abstract:
A system to capture, transmit and persist backup and recovery meta data over a network (16). An agent (48) captures the meta data at a computerized backup management system (22). The agent transmits the meta data from the backup management system to a storage console portal system (30). And the computerized console portal system includes a database (54) to store the meta data, thereby capturing, transmitting and persisting the meta data.
Abstract:
A compound comprising a blend of polypropylene with the reaction of a functionalized polypropylene and polyether amine in which the polyether amine is grafted into the functionalized polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is disclosed. The blend may include an elastomer such as EP rubber and/or a filler such as glass. A process for producing the reaction product of the functonalized polypropylene and the polyether amine by melting with polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is also disclosed. Blends of the present invention are advantageously useful to prepare paintable automotive body parts. A polyether monoamine that contains from about 36 to about 44 ethylene units and from about 1 to about 6 propylene units, and processes and blends using same.

Abstract:
This connection system has particular application to releasably securing a flexible catheter to a rigid portal outlet stem received in the catheter lumen. The system includes a radial enlargement on the outlet stem and a retainer sleeve having a tubular distal segment which encircles the catheter at a location adjacent to the free end of the stem therein and a proximal segment which is composed of a pair of mirror image, hinged together, semicylindrical clamping sections, one of which is an integral extension of the distal sleeve segment and the other of which can be moved between open and closed positions so as to enable the sections to clamp around the stem enlargement and a segment of the catheter encircling the stem. A locking ring snugly encircles the sleeve and is slidable therealong between a locking position wherein it tightly engages around the sleeve clamping sections and an unlocking position wherein it encircles the distal sleeve segment. The system assures a secure, fluid-tight connection of the catheter to the stem and provides strain relief for the catheter.
Abstract:
A method and machine for flanging tube ends, the machine having pivotal inner (22) and outer (30) forming tools which flange one end of a thin metal tube (21) specifically to form a rotatable drum for laundry machines. The tools are actuated by hydraulic rams (A), (B) and (C) and the rams are actuated at different rates of movement under the control of a computer so that as forming is effected by moving both sets of tools from dispositions on a cylinder to dispositions on a disc the inner forming tools (22) have their pivot points 24 changed relative to pivot points (31) of the outer forming tools (30) resulting in relative sliding between inner and outer forming tools. The flange (51) formed has two sets of ribs, one set extending outwardly away from the tube (21) and the other set extending inwardly within the tube (21) and parts of the flange between adjacent ribs lying in a plane substantially at right angles to the wall of the tube (21).
Abstract:
A system to manage backup and recovery meta data. A database (54) including a schema (70) having a file table (72), a backup table (74), and a link table (76) stores the backup and recovery meta data. A computerized console portal system (30) then accepts instruction regarding the meta data from a computerized administrator system (24).
Abstract:
This invention concerns a composition comprising a blend of polyolefin with the reaction of a functionalized polyolefin and polyetheramine in which the polyetheramine is grafted into the functionalized polyolefin in a customary mixing apparatus. A process for producing the reaction product of functionalized polypropylene and polyetheramine by melting with polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is also disclosed. Blends of the present invention are advantageously useful to prepare paintable automotive body parts. This invention further includes dyeable polyolefin compositions containing the reaction product of functionalized polyolefin and polyetheramine. Dyeable polyolefin fibers, including polypropylene fibers, are disclosed, which may be made by melt spinning, and which may be employed to make woven and non-woven fabric. The polyolefin employed in the practice of this invention may be a flexible polyolefin.
