    摘要: The unitary cylinder liner incorporating a water jacket is vertically cast as a one piece unit. The water jacket is draftless, allowing water to circulate therethrough more efficiently, increasing cooling capabilities. Such vertical one piece casting is made possible by the novel two piece core which eliminates the need for welding of metal bands onto an outer surface of the liner to produce the water jacker thereof. A novel method of vertical casting is also provided by use of the two piece core.

    摘要: The improved outlet end cooling system for a cylinder head of a locomotive engine includes a modified water pathway in the cylinder head, an outlet therefrom exiting from an upwardly directed surface of the cylinder head, and further including a modified rocker arm support having a planar bottom support surface and having an inlet port therein which is engageable with an outlet port in the cylinder head. The support has a water pathway therein which terminates in a nipple, the nipple extending past the cylinder head and downwardly along a side wall of the cylinder head into engagement with a remaining portion of the waterway. The improved outlet end allows for equal thickness of the side wall around the entire extent thereof, and eliminates a temperature gradient in an area of the cylinder head underlying a crab plate engaged thereover, virtually eliminating cracking and extending the useful life of the cylinder head.

    摘要: An improved mechanical joint construction for pivotally interconnecting two members, particularly members of an orthopedic or orthotic body appliance, to limit the degree of pivotal movement between the members and adjustably control the position of limited pivotal movement of the two members; comprising first securement components for attachment to a first appliance member to be interconnected and presenting a generally flat planar surface with pivot pin extending outwardly from the surface and a protrusion on the surface spaced radially from the pivot pin; second securement components for rigid attachment to a second appliance member to be interconnected and comprising an inner peripherally serrated plate with central opening for receipt of the pivot pin to support the inner plate for rotation thereon, an arcuate slot in the inner plate spaced radially from the opening therein and receiving the protrusion for movement between ends of the slot to limit relative rotational movement of the inner plate on the pivot pin, and an outer member having a portion for attachment to the second appliance member to be interconnected and a serrated opening therein for surrounding intermeshing engagement with the peripheral serrations on the inner plate to fix the outer member against relative rotation with respect to the inner plate, and a removable cover plate for securing the inner plate and outer member in adjustable intermeshed engagement on the pivot pin to rotate within limits defined by movement of the protrusion in the inner plate slot.
