    摘要: This invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of cyanoalkyl lactams by the reaction of an unsaturated nitrile with a lactam, said cyanoalkyl lactam of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is H, or methyl, R.sub.1 is H, methyl or ethyl and n is a number ranging from 2-11 and wherein each of the methylene groups may carry a lower alkyl substituent as shown. The improvement comprises: reacting said lactam with an alpha-beta unsaturated nitrile having from 3-6 carbon atoms in the presence of a catalytic amount of a diazabicycloalkene of the formula ##STR2## wherein R, R.sub.1 and n have the above meaning. Typically, acrylonitrile is reacted with .epsilon.-caprolactam in the presence of diazabicycloundecene.

    摘要: Mixed polycycloaliphatic amines (MPCA) and alkylates thereof (MPCA alkylates), methods for making mixed polycycloaliphatic MPCA amines and MPCA alkylates thereof, as well as polymeric compositions, such as spray-applied polyurea coating compositions, comprising said mixed amines MPCA and MPCA alkylates thereof are described herein. In one embodiment, the polymeric composition comprises an isocyanate component, and a resin component comprising an organic compound having the following Formula I: where R1, R2 and R3 are each independently selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group comprising from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an aryl group comprising from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, an aralkyl group comprising from 3 to 12 carbon atoms and combinations thereof, provided that there is at least one alkyl group within Formula I, and X is a methylene bridged polycycloaliphatic amine (MPCA).

    摘要: The invention pertains to tertiary amines used as catalysts for the preparation of polyurethane foams prepared via the catalytic reaction of a polyisocyanate with a polyol in the presence of blowing agents, etc. The tertiary amine catalysts are prepared by reacting an olefinic nitrile with aliphatic polyol having at least secondary hydroxyl functionality in a ratio less than stoichiometric for providing cyanoalkylated polyol having residual hydroxyl functionality. The resulting cyanoalkylated polyol then is reacted with a secondary amine under conditions for effective reductive alkylation.The tertiary amine catalysts, because of residual secondary hydroxyl functionality, provide for uniform dispersion within a polyurethane, formulation; they provude for additional or extended pot life in polyurethane formulations at temperature below reaction condition, and they are bound by reaction on cure.

    摘要: In a method for denitrifying the nitric acid- and nitrous acid-containing spent acid phase from the nitration of an aromatic hydrocarbon by the mixed acid process which comprises forming a denitrification reaction medium by contacting the spent acid phase with an aromatic hydrocarbon under nitration reaction conditions to recover the nitric acid by the formation of a nitroaromatic hydrocarbon, the improvement which comprises(a) adding an amount of aromatic hydrocarbon which is slightly less than or equal to the stoichiometric amount necessary to deplete the spent acid phase of nitric acid,(b) photometrically monitoring the denitrification reaction medium for the appearance of a dark red to black color, and(c) upon detection of such color, adjusting the aromatic hydrocarbon:nitric acid molar ratio in the denitrification reaction medium to eliminate the color by reducing the aromatic hydrocarbon feed rate, or adding nitric acid to the denitrification reaction medium.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for the coproduction of propanediamines and alkylated aminopropanediamines. The process contemplates an initial cyanoethylation of ammonia under conditions for producing aminopropionitrile and modest levels of iminobispropionitrile. After separation of the iminobispropionitrile from the aminopropionitrile, the process involves the catalytic reductive alkylation of the iminobispropionitrile by reaction with an aldehyde in the presence of hydrogen to form the alkylated iminobispropionitrile followed by the catalytic hydrogenation of the nitrile group in aminopropionnitrile and iminobispropionitrile to the amine.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for removing trinitrocresols and picric acid contaminants from a wastewater stream generated in the production of nitroaromatics, particularly dinitrotoluene, by the mixed acid technique. The process involves contacting the crude dinitrotoluene generated by the mixed acid technique with an alkaline medium to generate an alkaline wash water containing water soluble nitrocresols and picric acid therein. This wastewater then, is separated from the organic component or may be recycled for contact with further quantities of crude dinitrotoluene product from the reactor. When the concentration of the water soluble salts of trinitrocresols and picric acid is of sufficient concentration, the wash water is treated with aqueous acid in sufficient proportion to reduce the pH to a level from 3-4. After pH adjustment, the medium is contacted with hydrogen peroxide and a ferrous ion under conditions to effect oxidation of a substantial portion of the trinitrocresol to carboxylic acid, nitric acid and carbon dioxide.

    摘要: A method is provided for denitrifying the aqueous spent acid of mononitration. The nitric acid in the aqueous spent acid is recovered by adiabatically reacting greater than a stoichiometric amount of a mononitroaromatic hydrocarbon with the aqueous spent acid which has been fortified to a nitric acid concentration of at least about 2 wt %. The denitrification method is useful in treating the aqueous spent acid phase from the mononitration stage of a dinitrotoluene process.
