摘要： An apparatus for placing a fiber on a substrate, the apparatus including a base, a supporting member attached to the base, a first placement head attached to the support member, the first placement head having an extendable plunger slidably coupled to the first placement head, the first placement head having an airflow channel formed proximate to a tip of the plunger, a substrate carrier attached to the base, wherein, during operation of the apparatus, the substrate carrier holds a substrate beneath the plunger mechanism, and wherein, during operation of the apparatus, a vacuum source is connected to the placement head to draw a flow of air through the airflow channel, and wherein, during operation of the apparatus, the placement head picks up and holds a fiber against the plunger tip using forces associated with the flow of air.

In another aspect, a method of manipulating fibers includes placing a plurality of fibers on a substrate to extend over an opening formed through a top surface of the substrate to a bottom surface of the substrate, and flowing air through the opening to draw the plurality of fibers down towards the top surface of the substrate, and positioning each of said plurality of fibers in substantial alignment.

摘要： A livestock blow dryer includes a blower housing having an inlet opening and an outlet opening with a slot adjacent to the inlet opening. Within the blower housing are two blower motors for blowing air through the outlet opening. The blow dryer includes a filter cartridge adapted to be inserted into the slot so that air coming through inlet opening goes through the filter. The filter cartridge includes an outer perimeter section, a filter section within the outer perimeter, and a tab attached to the cartridge for inserting and removing the filter cartridge to and from the slot. The livestock blow dryer includes a frusto-conical shaped nozzle adapted to cover the outlet opening. The end of the nozzle has a holding member for attaching a hose to the nozzle.

摘要： A process is provided for the recovery of one or more useful products including fertilizer, animal feed supplements, iron oxide, magnesia, salt, purified brine, and purified water from brines. The source of the brines can be oil and gas field wastes, seawater or effluent from a seawater desalination plant, or other inland brine sources. Iron and magnesium are initially precipitated from the brine. Then phosphoric acid is added to the brine followed by an alkaline agent to produce precipitates useful as fertilizer and animal feed supplements. The remaining salt in the brine may then be removed and recovered along with purified water.
