    摘要: Provided are a method for reusing an iron-containing by-product and an apparatus configured to use the method. The method include: forming briquettes by mixing an iron-containing by-product with 5 parts by weight to 20 parts by weight of carbon, based on 100 parts by weight of the iron-containing by-product; preliminarily reducing the briquettes within a temperature range of 800° C. to 1300° C.; and supplying the preliminarily reduced briquettes to an electric furnace. The apparatus includes: a reducing furnace in which briquettes formed by mixing an iron-containing by-product with 5 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight of carbon, based on 100 parts by weight of the iron-containing by-product is reduced within a temperature range of 800° C. to 1300° C.; and an electric furnace to which the preliminarily reduced briquettes are supplied.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing iron oxides using microwave heating in a furnace chamber which is sealed against the entrance of air reduces the energy required and produces a low temperature reduction and allows the recovery of combustible synthetic gas as a byproduct of the process. Avoidance of the reduction of sulfur, phosphorus and silica is also insured, as is the need to reduce the silica content of the feed material prior to reducing the ore. A continuous rotary hearth furnace, a rotary kiln, a linear conveyor and vertical shaft furnace chamber configurations are described. A secondary heating zone can also be included to process the reduced iron into iron nuggets or liquid metallic iron.

    摘要: A method for reducing oxidic slags and dusts possibly loaded with organics uses an inductively heatable coke bed extending in the axial direction and having a temperature gradient. Reaction gas is sucked off in an axial region of the coke bed between two induction bodies and metal regulus and slag melt are tapped on the lower end. An inductively heatable shaft furnace chargeable with a lumpy coke bed for the reduction of metallic slags is made of an electrically insulating refractory material, has an adjustable temperature gradient includes at least one cooled induction body on the head side, a suction connection in an axial region where the prevailing temperature exceeds the condensation point of the substances to be removed, located below the cooled induction body on the head side, and an opening for tapping metal regulus and slag melt is provided on the lower end of the furnace.

    摘要: A smelting apparatus includes a vessel and a solids injection lance extending through an opening in the wall of a vessel barrel into the interior space of the vessel. The lance includes a central core tube through which to pass solid particulate material into the vessel and an annular cooling jacket surrounding the central core tube throughout a substantial part of its length. The lance has a mounting structure including a tubular part extended about the cooling jacket and about twice the diameter of the cooling jacket. The tubular part fits within a tubular lance mounting bracket welded to the shell of the vessel barrel to extend outwardly from the vessel. The lance is held within the mounting bracket by clamping bolts acting between flanges on the tubular part and the tubular bracket.

    摘要: Systems and methods for use in processing raw material (e.g., iron bearing material) include a linear furnace apparatus extending along a longitudinal axis between a charging end and a discharging end (e.g., the linear furnace apparatus includes at least a furnace zone positioned along the longitudinal axis). Raw material is provided into one or more separate or separable containers (e.g., trays) at the charging end of the linear furnace apparatus. The separate or separable containers are moved through at least the furnace zone and to the discharging end where the processed material is discharged resulting in one or more empty containers. One or more of the empty containers are returned to the charging end of the linear furnace apparatus to receive further raw material.
