    摘要: An electrochromic device comprises a layer of electrochromic tungsten oxide in contact with an ion-conductive insulating layer of codeposited mixture of SiO and Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 between electrodes of reversible polarity for alternately coloring and erasing the electrochromic layer by alternate application of current in opposite directions. The mixture of components in the ion-conductive layer improves cycling life of the device.

    摘要: This invention relates generally to amido or carbamate substituted trisaryl-1,3,5-triazines and the use thereof to protect against degradation by environmental forces, inclusive of ultraviolet light, actinic radiation, oxidation, moisture, atmospheric pollutants and combinations thereof. The new class of trisaryl-1,3,5-triazines comprises an aryl ring attached to the triazine ring (and preferably an aryl ring containing a hydroxyl group, either free or blocked to form a latent stabilizer, ortho- to the point of attachment to the triazine ring) substituted with a group comprising a bondable amido/carbamate containing group para- to the point of attachment to the triazine ring. These materials may, under the appropriate circumstances, be bonded to formulations comprising coatings, polymers, resins, organic compounds and the like via reaction of the bondable functionality with the materials of the formulation. A method for stabilizing a material by incorporating such amido or carbamate substituted trisaryl-1,3,5-triazines is also disclosed.

    摘要: Cadmium stannate has been found to be useful as a window for solar heat absorbing systems in which advantage is taken of the unique optical properties of cadmium stannate. When cadmium stannate is in an electrically conductive state, having a conductivity of greater than 10.sup.3 ohm.sup..sup.-1 cm.sup..sup.-1 , it becomes transparent to solar radiation and reflective of thermal infrared radiation. This enables the cadmium stannate to function as a window which allows passage of solar radiation through it and incident onto a black body, and at the same time serve as a reflector of thermal infrared radiation emitted from said body. This results in more efficient solar heat transfer to the solar heat collector provided with such a window.
