摘要: A printhead (10) forms an image onto a photosensitive medium (22) by exposing pixels in a succession of exposures. The printhead (10) has a housing with a first position for an illumination array (20) of LED emitters (16), a second position for a lens array of lens elements (28) and a light-guiding array (26) of uniformizer elements (34), arranged within a corresponding array of cavities extended between the first and second positions (32, 46). For each pixel exposed on the photosensitive medium (22), a single LED light emitter (16) in the illumination array (20) provides light into a single corresponding uniformizer element (34) in the light-guiding array (26), which directs light to a single corresponding lens assembly (38) of the lens array (28).

摘要: A method and apparatus is provided for line scanning a beam receiving member, wherein a scanning beam is angularly or laterally displaced to compensate for scan line spacing error. The beam is displaced according to error arising from variation (flutter) in the relative motion of the beam and the beam receiving member, or according to error arising from movement of the receiving member while the scanning beam travels to a start of scan position, or both. Embodiments of beam displacement means include a refracting tilt plate, a reflecting tilt plate, a diffracting tilt plate, and a tilt prism.

摘要: A method and apparatus for printing multiple simultaneous images onto a photosensitive media comprises the steps of imaging light from a light source through an optics assembly (75) to a polarization beamsplitter (80). The polarization beamsplitter (80) produces light having a first polarized state and light having a second polarized state. The first polarized light is directed to a first spatial light modulator (90). The first spatial light modulator is addressed with a first signal to create a first modulated light beam, which is imaged through a print lens assembly onto the photosensitive media. A second polarized light is directed to a second spatial light modulator (95). The second spatial light modulator is addressed with a second signal to create a second modulated light beam, which is imaged through the print lens onto the photosensitive media. The first modulated light beam and the second modulated light beam create at least two simultaneous images on the photosensitive media.
