摘要： Methods and systems are described for downloading media assets efficiently and quickly before loss of network connectivity. The method may allow a user to download portions of a media asset in different versions to download a maximum portion of the media asset before loss of network connectivity. Certain versions of media assets may be downloaded more quickly than other versions of media assets. The method may also allow a user to view partially downloaded media assets without network connectivity. The method may also replace portions of media assets downloaded in a first version with portions of the media assets in a second version once network connectivity is restored.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided herein for selecting graphics to use as backgrounds of media asset identifiers. To this end, a media guidance application may determine that a media asset identifier is to be generated for display, and may determine whether the user input an explicit preference for a media asset corresponding to the media asset identifier (e.g., the user added the media asset to his watch list). In response to determining that the user input the explicit preference for the media asset corresponding to the media asset identifier, the media guidance application may determine display dimensions of the second media asset identifier, select a graphic that corresponds to the display dimensions, and generate for display the selected graphic as a background graphic of the media asset identifier.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided herein to ease the process of navigating media asset identifiers. Control circuitry may generate a timeline scroller that does not obscure media asset identifiers for simultaneous display with the media asset identifiers. When a user makes contact with the timeline scroller (e.g., by touching it with a finger on a touch screen device), control circuitry may responsively generate for display an indicator of a time corresponding with the point where the contact is made. Control circuitry may cause this indicator to be updated as a user scrolls along the timeline scroller. Control circuitry may refrain from updating the listings to correspond with the time until the user discontinues making contact with the timeline scroller (e.g., by removing the finger from the touch screen).
