摘要:
A communication server 200 acquires a request specifying a desired location for content creation from a requester terminal 310, and provides a notification of the request to an accepter terminal 300 accepting the content creation. The notification history managing unit 206 stores, as notification history, the distance from an accepter terminal to be provided with the notification to the desired recoding location and acceptance information. Upon acquisition of a new request, a request notification terminal selecting unit 203 selects a accepter terminal 300 that is likely to accept the request according to the notification history, and the request notifying unit 204 provides the selected accepter terminal 300 with the notification.

The present invention provides a broadcast receiving terminal which improves power conservation, in which a user does not miss broadcast contents s/he likes. The broadcast receiving terminal (100) includes: a display unit (120) for displaying TV program content; a state administration unit (112) which judges whether or not to display the TV program content, based on the user's operation; and a first processing unit (110), which receives a digital broadcast wave and operates as follows: executes decoding on stream information, and causes the TV program content to be displayed in the display unit (120) when the TV program content are judged to be displayed. The first processing unit (110) presents an outline indicating real-time TV program information so that the outline is synchronized with the TV program content when the TV program content are judged not to be displayed.

A terminal determines a target value of stream data to be stored in its buffer in relation to its buffer capacity and the transmission capacity of the network. Also, the terminal arbitrarily determines a delay time from when the terminal writes a head data of the stream data to the buffer to when the terminal reads the data to start playback in a range not exceeding a value obtained by dividing the buffer capacity by the transmission capacity. The target value and the delay time are then both notified to a server. Based on those notified values, the server controls the transmission speed so that the buffer occupancy of the terminal changes in the vicinity of the target value without exceeding the target value.

A method and device for adequately controlling the DC bias of each of the optical modulating sections of an optical modulator even while the optical modulator is operating in normal mode and even with a simple structure. An optical modulator bias controller (B) for controlling the DC bias of each optical modulating section of an optical modulator (1) is characterized by comprising DC bias application means (3) for applying a DC bias to each of the optical modulating sections, a low-frequency signal superimposing circuit (2) for superimposing a low-frequency signal fB with a specific frequency on a modulating signal b applied to each optical modulating section, optical sensing means (9) for sensing a change of the intensity of the light wave passing through the combining section, and bias control means (4) for extracting the change of the intensity of light corresponding to the low-frequency signal from the optical sensing means and controlling the DC bias application means according to the extracted change of the intensity of light.

An optical modulator suppresses a radiation mode of a microwave generated in a connection substrate or termination substrate from entering a signal electrode of the optical modulator and suppresses modulation properties from being degraded. The optical modulator includes an optical modulation element (1) having a substrate with an electro-optic effect, an optical waveguide formed on the substrate, and a modulating electrode (or a signal electrode (2)) for modulating light passing through the optical waveguide; and a connection substrate (4), arranged outside the substrate, for supplying the optical modulation element with a microwave signal operating the optical modulation element. A signal input terminal (22) and a signal output terminal (23) are formed on the connection substrate (20). A recombination suppression unit suppresses a radiation mode (24) of the microwave signal input to the signal input terminal (22) from being recombined with the signal output terminal (23) provided on the connection substrate.

It is an object of the invention to provide an optical modulator in which a connection substrate or a terminal substrate is disposed outside an optical modulation element and which can maintain at a proper voltage amplitude value a modulation signal applied to an optical modulation element. An optical modulator includes: a substrate having electro-optic effect; an optical waveguide formed on the substrate; an optical modulation element 1 having a modulation electrode (which includes a signal electrode 2) for modulating light passing through the optical waveguide; and a connection substrate 20 disposed outside the substrate to supply a modulation signal for driving the optical modulation element to the optical modulation element. In the optical modulator, a signal line for propagating the modulation signal is formed on the connection substrate, and a modulation signal monitoring output line 25 for monitoring the voltage amplitude of the modulation signal is provided right in front of an end of the signal line for supplying the modulation signal from the signal line to the optical modulation element.

When a main video data stream that is selected and decoded is changed, a video data processing device 101 instructs, via a network 110, a surveillance camera that encodes a newly-selected main video data stream to create a main video data stream with a smaller I-frame interval as of that point, and instructs, via a network 110, a surveillance camera that encodes a newly-deselected main video data stream to create a main video data stream with a larger I-frame interval as of that point.

A caption display device is provided in which display settings, such as arrangement of caption/text and the like, can be changed with a consistent operation system independent of the type of a terminal, and caption/text can be viewed even during displaying of a menu or a dialogue. In the caption display device, by causing a document data converting section (105) and a display data generating section (106) to display caption/text, the caption/text can be arranged in a display region using a frame function of a WWW browser. Also, in the caption display device, a display control section (107) is used to enable displaying of a caption using a WWW browser, and a display selecting section (112) is used to enable displaying of caption/text in a video display-region, depending on displaying of a menu, a dialogue or the like.
