Abstract: NAS signaling between a UE and a server is enhanced by performing one of: sending a registration complete message to the server using existing NAS signaling and without starting a release timer in response to receiving an RC_ID deletion IE in a registration accept message; and not sending the registration complete message to the server in response to receiving the RC_ID deletion IE in the registration accept message. A registration procedure is reinstated based on a stored RC_ID.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to methods for handling a resource in a wireless network by a UE 100. The method includes receiving a reject cause message from a network entity. The UE does not support a redirected radio access technology (RAT) indicated in the reject cause message. Further, the method includes considering the reject cause message to represent an abnormal case and performing at least one action based on the abnormal case. The method can be used for enabling enhanced NAS procedure in CIoT devices. The method can also be used to indicate the change in support of CP/UP preference when both CP and UP CIoT optimization are supported, so as to reduce the signalling overhead in the wireless network, improve the UE behavior and NAS procedural efficiencies.

Abstract: A method for optimizing selection of a Standalone Non-Public Network (SNPN) by a User Equipment (UE), includes: receiving, from a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) or a SNPN, SNPN selection parameters associated with a PLMN subscription list corresponding to one or more Universal Subscriber Identity Modules (USIMs), wherein the SNPN selection parameters comprises a list of SNPNs, and a plurality of configuration parameters supported by the PLMN for the one or more USIMs; and selecting at least one SNPN from the list of SNPNs based on the PLMN subscription list and storing SNPN selection parameters along with a USIM being associated with the SNPN selection parameters.

Abstract: A method for handling collision of signaling messages between a user equipment (UE) and a network entity is disclosed. The method includes transmitting a first signaling message comprising a first access type and a second signaling message comprising a second access type different from the first access type. The UE is registered on a network for the first access type and the second access type. The method also includes determining that the first access type and the second access type correspond to different access types. The method further includes processing the first signaling message and the second signaling message based on the determination by processing of the first signaling message and the second signaling message in parallel or re-triggering one or more of the first signaling message or the second signaling message.

Abstract: A method disclosed herein includes selecting, by the UE, a SNPN for registration, on the SNPN access mode being enabled. The method includes disabling, by the UE, the SNPN access mode, if the selected SNPN does not support at least one emergency service. The method includes enabling, by the UE, a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection mode to select a PLMN cell supporting the at least one emergency service, on the SNPN access mode being disabled. The method includes performing, by the UE, the at least one emergency service by camping on the selected PLMN cell. The method includes enabling, by the UE, the SNPN access mode for performing a SNPN selection procedure, on completion of the at least one emergency service.
