The method includes receiving a packet including metadata from a user plane function (UPF), identifying a packet delay budget (PDB) for a quality of service (QoS) flow of the packet, identifying a delay time of the packet based on the metadata, determining an access network (AN) PDB based on the PDB and the delay time, and performing scheduling for transmission of the packet to a terminal based on the AN PDB.

摘要: A method for processing at least one Internet Protocol (IP) packet performed by a converged layer 2 (L2) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, by the converged L2, at least one internet protocol (IP) packet as a service data unit (SDU) from an IP layer, assigning, by the converged L2, a sequence number to the received at least one IP packet, adding, by the converged L2, at least one L2 header to the received at least one IP packet to process a protocol data unit (PDU), and transmitting, by the converged L2, the processed at least one PDU to at least one medium access control (MAC) lower layer.

摘要: According to an embodiment of the disclosure, a method of operating a transmitting device in a wireless communication system includes obtaining a plurality of radio link control (RLC) data protocol data units (PDUs) in an RLC entity; generating an automatic repeat request (ARQ) PDU corresponding to an RLC data PDU set including at least one of the plurality of RLC data PDUs based on a resource allocation in the RLC entity; transmitting, from a medium access control (MAC) layer, a first MAC PDU generated based on the RLC data PDU set and the ARQ PDU to a receiving device through a lower layer; and receiving a status PDU associated with the RLC data PDU set when a certain condition is satisfied, wherein the ARQ PDU includes information for processing an operation related to the RLC data PDU set.

A method for handling segmentation in a converged layer 2 (L2) communication network is provided. The method includes assigning, by a converged L2 of a transmitter, a L2 sequence number (SN) to a protocol data unit (PDU). The L2 SN includes at least one of a last segment indication (LSI) indicating a presence of a last service data units (SDU) of the complete PDU, a length indicator exist (LIE) indicating a presence of a length indicator (LI) after a L2 header, or a SI indicating a segmentation status or stage of the complete PDU, receiving, by a medium access control (MAC) layer of the transmitter, a grant opportunity or a transmission opportunity for transferring the PDU available at the converged L2, and sending the PDU to a lower layer of the transmitter for transmission to a receiver with or without segmentation based on the grant or a transmission opportunity.
