Abstract: A print control apparatus includes an image data acquisition unit for acquiring at least first image data of a raster format that defines color information and second image data of a raster format that defines an amount of recording with a special color ink different from the color that is indicated by the color information, a PDL data generation unit for generating PDL data with which an instruction for printing a document comprising at least an image represented by the first image data and the second image data is described by a page description language, and a transfer unit for transferring the generated PDL data to a print unit, wherein the PDL data generation unit generating a command for designating a method of printing for the special color ink represented by the second image data and generating PDL data that includes the generated command.
