    Abstract: A filtration separator for magnetic particles includes a storage tank that stores a liquid in which magnetic particles are dispersed, and that has a bottom portion and a side wall portion, a stirring mechanism having a rotating shaft portion inserted into the storage tank in a direction crossing a face of the bottom portion, and a stirring impeller that is coupled to the rotating shaft portion and that stirs the liquid by rotation of the rotating shaft portion, a magnet mechanism that is provided in at least a part of the side wall portion, and that can switch a magnetic force in the storage tank between an on state and an off state, and that adsorb the magnetic particles in the liquid to the side wall portion when it is in the on state, and a filtration mechanism having a filter provided in the bottom portion of the storage tank, and a discharge port from which the liquid after passing through the filter is discharged.

    Abstract: A magnetic bead includes: a magnetic metal particle; and a coating layer that covers a surface of the magnetic metal particle, contains an inorganic oxide, and has an average thickness of 15 nm or more, in which, when the magnetic bead is subjected to an operation of mixing 0.1 g of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), 5 mL of pure water, and 100 mg of the magnetic bead to prepare a first mixture, an operation of mixing the first mixture with 5 mL of hydrochloric acid having a concentration of 10 mM to obtain a second mixture, and then stirring the second mixture with a vortex mixer for 30 minutes, and an operation of allowing the stirred second mixture to stand for one day, then collecting a supernatant, and measuring a metal ion concentration of the supernatant by high-frequency inductively coupled plasma (ICP) emission spectroscopy, the metal ion concentration of the supernatant is 0.01 ppm or more and 5.00 ppm or less.

    Abstract: A magnetic bead separation method includes: storing, in a container, a mixed liquid containing a magnetic bead and a liquid containing target molecules, and adsorbing the target molecules on the magnetic bead, the magnetic bead containing a Fe-based metal soft magnetic particle and a coating film with which the Fe-based metal soft magnetic particle is coated, and having a saturation magnetization of 50 emu/g or more and 250 emu/g or less; applying an external magnetic field to the container and magnetically attracting at least a part of the magnetic bead by the external magnetic field; and applying an acceleration to the container while the magnetic bead is magnetically attracted by the external magnetic field and desorbing the liquid adhering to the magnetic bead.
