    Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a supporting member, a printing section, an image capturing section, and a receiver. The supporting member is configured to support a continuous form. The printing section is configured to cause ink to adhere to the continuous form supported by the supporting member, thus performing printing. The image capturing section is disposed in the supporting member, with a gap between the image capturing section and the supporting member. The image capturing section is configured to capture an image of the continuous form. The receiver is configured to receive ink. The receiver is disposed below the gap.

    Abstract: A transportation device includes a transportation unit that transports continuous paper, and an image capturing unit that has a light irradiator capable of irradiating the continuous paper which is transported by the transportation unit with light and detects a transportation amount of the continuous paper based on reflected light of the light irradiated onto the continuous paper by the light irradiator. The light irradiator is arranged so as to irradiate the continuous paper with light obliquely with respect to the detection region of the continuous paper from the width direction side of the continuous paper, which is orthogonal to the transportation direction of the continuous paper.

    Abstract: After the control section of a printer (liquid discharge apparatus) discharges ink on the basis of a print job, the control section waits for an input of the next print job while causing the discharge section to perform flushing. If the next print job is input before the elapsed time Te from the end of the ink discharge on the basis of the print job exceeds the waiting time Tw, the control section causes ink to be discharged on the basis of the next print job. On the other hand, if the next print job is not input before the elapsed time Te exceeds the waiting time Tw, the control section causes the cap to be subjected to capping.

The entering direction of the paper sheet fed out from the pair of transportation rollers is determined so as to intersect the plane of the holding surface of the support table. A translucent glass that serves as a detection window of an imaging unit disposed at a position opposite to the paper sheet with respect to the holding surface is located downstream in the transportation direction with respect to an intersection position between the entering direction of the paper sheet and the holding surface. Specifically, the translucent glass is located in the proximity of an abutment position where the paper sheet abuts against the holding surface.
