    Abstract: A cell picking device includes a stage, a sucker, a driver, a work content receiver, a registrar and a device controller. A sample container is placed on the stage. The driver is provided to execute sample scraping work and sample sucking work using a pipette tip attached to the sucker. In a case in which selection of work contents of the driver is received by the work content receiver, a work procedure including the received work contents of the driver is registered by the registrar. The work of the driver is controlled by the device controller in accordance with the registered work procedure.

    Abstract: A cell picking device that sucks cells from a liquid sample in a sample container and accommodates the sucked cells in any of a plurality of wells of an accommodating plate, includes a suction discharger that sucks cells in the sample container and discharges the sucked cells into any of the plurality of wells, the receiver that receives selection of a well in which cells are to be accommodated out of the plurality of wells of the accommodating plate as a selection well, a driver that adjusts a relative positional relationship between the suction discharger and the plurality of wells of the accommodating plate, and a work controller that controls the driver such that the suction discharger discharges cells into the received selection well out of the plurality of wells of the accommodating plate.

    Abstract: A cell picking device includes a sucker having a pipette tip attached to a tip portion of the sucker and is used to suck the cell from a tip of the pipette tip, a driver configured to cause the sucker to perform a suction operation and move the sucker in a horizontal-plane direction and an axial direction of the pipette tip with the sucker inclined with respect to a vertical direction. A controller moves the sucker such that the tip of the pipette tip moves in a horizontal direction while being in contact with a bottom surface of the container installed on the sample mounting stage in a predetermined position on the sample mounting stage to desorb a cell arranged in the predetermined position from the bottom surface of the container, and suck the cell desorbed from the bottom surface of the container from the tip of the pipette tip.

    Abstract: A suction arm advances in an axial direction of a pipette tip such that an end of the pipette tip comes into contact with a bottom surface of a sample container while the pipette tip attached to a suction arm is tilted with respect to a vertical direction. Next, the suction arm is moved such that the end of the pipette tip scans the bottom surface of the sample container in a horizontal direction toward a predetermined position. Subsequently, at the predetermined position, the suction arm is further tilted by a predetermined angle such that the end of the pipette tip is lifted and a base of the pipette tip is lowered. Thereafter, the suction arm performs a sucking operation such that a sample is sucked through the end of the pipette tip.

    Abstract: A cell area extraction unit (241) extracts a cell area in a phase image that is created based on a hologram obtained by in-line holographic microscope (IHM). A background value acquisition unit (242) obtains a background value from phase values at a plurality of positions outside the cell area. An intracellular phase value acquisition unit (243) averages a plurality of phase values on a sampling line set at a position close to the periphery of a cell, while avoiding a central portion in which the phase value may be lowered in the cell area, to obtain an intracellular phase value. A phase change amount calculation unit (244) obtains the difference between the intracellular phase value and the background value. A phase change amount determination unit (245) compares the value of the difference with thresholds in two levels to determine whether the cell is in an undifferentiated state or an undifferentiation deviant state. It is thereby possible to automatically make a correct determination while removing the influence of a theoretical measurement error by IHM.
