Abstract:
A network node (12, 17) dynamically configures and controls assistance information transmissions by wireless communications devices (14) in a wireless communications system (10). The assistance information facilitates performance of power saving adaptations for the wireless communications device (14). The network node (12, 17) configures what information to indicate in assistance information messages, how the message is sent by wireless communications devices (14), and/or when the message should be signaled. The wireless communications devices (14) transmit assistance information messages in accordance with configuration parameters signaled by the network node (12, 17).
Abstract:
A position reference signal (PRS) to support observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) position determination in an electronic device is generated and transmitted by a network node that has a unique identifier. Generating the PRS includes generating a first PRS sequence and generating a second PRS sequence by modifying the first PRS sequence with a modification function to generate the second PRS sequence. A sum of the first PRS sequence and the second PRS sequence is zero.
Abstract:
A terminal device for use with a wireless telecommunications system, the terminal device configured to attempt to receive or to transmit a first signal during one or more of a plurality of predetermined time periods in response to determining that one or more second signals indicating, respectively, that the one or more of the plurality of predetermined time periods should be used for the attempted reception or transmission of a first signal have been received by the transceiver; determine a characteristic associated with the one or more second signals; and to control the transceiver to receive a third signal from the infrastructure equipment or to transmit a third signal to the infrastructure equipment, the third signal comprising information on the basis of which it is determinable whether or not a predetermined condition associated with the characteristic associated with the one or more second signals has been met.
Abstract:
A wake-up signal (700-706) is associated with a plurality of paging occasions (4901-4904) for a plurality of terminals (102, 102-1-102-8). Each one of the plurality of paging occasions (4901-4904) is associated with one or more of the plurality of terminals (102, 102-1-102-8).
Abstract:
A beam sweep configuration of at least one beam sweep is exchanged between nodes of a network. The beam sweep configuration may be indicative of a time-duplex configuration of a plurality of beams of the at least one beam sweep. A beam configuration may be determined based on a receive property of pilot signals transmitted and/or received in the beam sweep.
Abstract:
A base station for transmitting system related information in a mobile telecommunications network. The base station is configured to transmit system information for the cell provided by the base station and to broadcast a version synchronisation signal, wherein the version synchronisation signal provides version information regarding the current version of the system information for the cell.
Abstract:
A terminal, and a control method for a terminal in a wireless communication system including a network of base stations, operating under extended discontinuous reception. The method comprises the steps of performing discontinuous reception of signals from a serving base station so as to listen for a paging message, with a reception periodicity having a first interval; performing radio link measurements so as to determine the need for cell selection, with a measurement periodicity having a second interval; wherein the second interval is shorter than the first interval.
Abstract:
A method for positioning a mobile terminal in a radio network including a plurality of base stations, comprising: transmitting a signal from a base station for receipt in the mobile terminal along a line of sight of a radio beam; receiving time measurement data from the mobile terminal, obtained based on receipt in the mobile terminal of the transmitted signal; calculating a distance value (DLOS) for the distance from the base station to the mobile terminal based on the time measurement data; and calculating a vertical position (Dv) of the mobile terminal, based on the distance value and an elevation angle (θ) of the line of sight of the radio beam from one or more of the plurality of base stations.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to systems, methods and computer program products for modifying Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) transmissions from base stations to User Equipment (UE) by providing for partial power boosting at the base stations with the purpose of improving UE positioning accuracy and, specifically positioning accuracy of Machine Type Communication (MTC) devices.
Abstract:
Transmission of at least one first wake-up signal to a communication device (103) is triggered on a direct link (181) between a network (100) and the communication device (103). Transmission of at least one second wake-up signal to the communication device (103) is triggered on a relaying link (182) between the network (100) and the communication device (103).
