Abstract: An image processing device including a decoding section configured to decode an image from an encoded stream, a horizontal filtering section configured to apply a deblocking filter to a vertical block boundary within an image to be decoded by the decoding section, a vertical filtering section configured to apply a deblocking filter to a horizontal block boundary within an image to be decoded by the decoding section, and a control section configured to cause the horizontal filtering section to filter in parallel a plurality of vertical block boundaries included in a processing unit containing a plurality of coding units and cause the vertical filtering section to filter in parallel a plurality of horizontal block boundaries included in the processing unit.

Abstract: There is provided an image processing apparatus and an image processing method by which three-dimensional data can be generated with high accuracy on the basis of two-dimensional image data and depth image data. A color shift correction data generation unit generates color shift correction data for correcting a color shift between two-dimensional image data of a base viewpoint and two-dimensional image data of a reference viewpoint. A metadata addition unit transmits color shift correction information including the color shift correction data generated by the color shift correction data generation unit, encoded data of the two-dimensional image data of the base viewpoint and depth image data indicative of a position of each of pixels in a depthwise direction of an image pickup object and encoded data of the two-dimensional image data of the reference viewpoint and depth image data. The present disclosure can be applied, for example, to a synthesis apparatus.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus, a method, and a program that enable an amount of code to be suppressed below a desired value with more reliability. An emergency mode determining section determines that the amount of code of a next picture is likely to exceed an upper limit if a target bit calculated by a rate controlling section exceeds a predetermined upper limit. If it is determined that the amount of code of the next picture is likely to exceed the upper limit, the code amount controlling section controls an orthogonal transducing section to replace a transform coefficient of a predetermined frequency component with zero, controls an intra predicting section to restrict intra prediction modes to be applied, and controls a mode determining section to restrict inter prediction modes to be applied. The prevent invention can be applied to an encoding apparatus.

The image processing device sets a coefficient located at the beginning of a quantization matrix by adding a replacement difference coefficient that is a difference between a replacement coefficient used to replace a coefficient located at the beginning of the quantization matrix and the coefficient located at the beginning of the quantization matrix to the coefficient located at the beginning of the quantization matrix; up-converts the set quantization matrix; and dequantizes quantized data using an up-converted quantization matrix in which a coefficient located at the beginning of the up-converted quantization matrix has been replaced with the replacement coefficient. The device and method can be applied to an image processing device.
