The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method which can use binary format signaling data and text format signaling data in combination. There is provided a reception apparatus including a first acquisition unit which acquires, preceding text format second signaling data to be transmitted in a lower-level layer than an IP layer in a hierarchy of a protocol of an IP transmission system and containing control information independent of a service identified by an IP address, binary format first signaling data containing a flag indicating whether the second signaling data exists in digital broadcast using the IP transmission system, a second acquisition unit which acquires the second signaling data on the basis of the first signaling data, and a control unit which controls operation of the units which perform various types of processing on the basis of the second signaling data. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a television receiver.

The present technology relates to a transmission device, a transmission method, a reception device, and a reception method that can enhance the accessibility for people with visual disabilities. The transmission device includes: a text-to-speech utterance metadata generation unit that generates text-to-speech utterance metadata about the text-to-speech utterance of display information as the producer intends; an electronic program information generation unit that generates electronic program information including the text-to-speech utterance metadata; and a transmission unit that transmits the electronic program information to the reception device capable of displaying the display information. The present technology can be applied, for example, to a transmitter capable of transmitting a digital broadcast signal.

Provided is a reception apparatus, including: a reception unit that receives a broadcast wave of digital broadcasting using an IP (Internet Protocol) transmission system; and a filtering processing unit that performs filtering processing on a packet by using filtering information, the filtering information being provided in a header of the packet, the packet being transmitted in a baseband stream in a first layer via the broadcast wave, the first layer being lower than an IP layer in a hierarchy of a protocol of the IP transmission system. The present technology is applicable to a television receiver, for example.

Provided is a reception apparatus including a control unit that performs, on the basis of a relationship among a plurality of elements which is prescribed in advance in an MPD conforming to a standard of MPEG-DASH which is transmitted via a broadcast wave or a communication network of digital broadcasting, and a first element for grouping of target elements in a specific layer in which selection or structuring of a component having a structure including a plurality of layers for the selection and the structuring is performed, at least one of the selection and the structuring of the component, and controls reproduction of a content constituted of one or more components. The present disclosure relates to a content supply device, a content supply method, a program, a terminal device, and a content supply system, which are capable of implementing rapid zapping between channels in DASH. The content supply device of the present disclosure generates a zapping segment stream by delimiting zapping streaming data among a plurality of pieces of streaming data into minimum units when reception of the streaming data is switched, according to a common timing with another channel, unicast-delivers the zapping segment stream, multicast-delivers the zapping segment stream, and generates a metafile for a reception side to receive the zapping segment stream that is unicast-delivered and multicast-delivered. The present disclosure can be applied to a system that delivers content in a streaming manner.

Provided are a device and a method which are capable of performing selection acquisition and utilization processes for a service worker (SW) that performs data management optimized for each reception device. It is possible to selectively acquire a service worker (SW) of a specific class from service workers (SWs) corresponding to a plurality of classes which are data management programs used in a reception device and have different data management types. For example, use of a service worker (SW) corresponding to a class selected according to an application use state in a reception device is implemented. A reception device acquires access information of a service worker (SW) of a specific class using signaling data in which a token used for efficiently searching for the access information of the service worker (SW) of the specific class is recorded, and acquires the service worker (SW).

A receiver stores and holds, in a storage unit, a signaling template as a template for generating a signaling instance required for a content reception process and a content reproduction process. A transmitter transmits, to the receiver, difference information as data to be applied to the signaling template and used for generating a signaling instance. The receiver generates the signaling instance by applying the difference information received from the transmitter to the signaling template, and receives and reproduces a content with reference to the generated signaling instance.

A transmission apparatus generates a plurality of packets storing divisional data generated by dividing encoded data serving as a transmission target into data equal to or less than a maximum data transfer unit (MTU) specified on a communication path and additional information serving as arrangement information of the divisional data and sequentially transmits the packets. For example, NAL unit fragments obtained by further dividing a NAL unit are stored in each packet, and the packets are transmitted. The reception apparatus arranges NAL unit fragments stored in the packets in a divided manner with reference to the additional information of the packets and reconstructs and decodes the NAL unit.
