Abstract: Disclosed is a grid lighting system having at least one housing segment with at least one lighting zone. At least one lighting module is selected from at least one track lighting module and/or at least one non-track lighting module. The at least one lighting zone extends along a first length dimension of the housing segment and including at least one first passage to receive the at least one track lighting module and/or non-track lighting module. The housing segment includes a first power supply segment to be coupled with a designated line voltage outlet to deliver line voltage power to the at least one lighting module in the at least one lighting zone. Each track lighting module includes a lighting subzone, with a second passage to receive one or more lighting submodules along a second length dimension. A second power supply segment is provided to couple with the first power supply segment to receive line power and to deliver low voltage to the one or more lighting submodules.

Abstract: A lighting assembly with a single edge lit optical configuration produces various asymmetric light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. The compact form factor of the lighting assembly embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting applications requiring suspended, surface and recessed installations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. The lighting assembly can also be selectively configured and oriented during assembly and installation to achieve various lighting distributions. Optical components within the lighting assembly are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing. The optical configuration typically includes LED board, light guide, and one or more reflectors, and an optically transmitting component providing further control of the lighting distributions and a broader range of design choices. A variety of asymmetrical and symmetrical light distributions can be achieved with one or more peak intensities. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of the light guide with one or more reflectors to achieve different light distributions.

Abstract: A single edge lit lighting module produces bi-lobed light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the lighting module output face. The compact form factor of module embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting fixtures for suspended, surface and recessed lighting configurations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. Embodiments of the single edge lit lighting module utilize reflectors in combination with light guides having volumetric light scattering properties and surface features to control peak intensities, output angles, and shapes of the two light output lobes. A variety of light distributions can be achieved including symmetrical bi-lobed distributions conventionally achieved by double edge lit modules. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of light guide with reflector to achieve different asymmetric light distributions. The single edge lit lighting module incorporates a housing, LED board, light guide and reflector, and can further incorporate an optically transmitting lens over its output face and provides a fixture assembler with a range of design choices without need of additional components.
