摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs stored on a computer-readable storage medium, for performing hybrid additive manufacturing. In some implementations, a hybrid additive manufacturing system causes a three-dimensional printer to print a sheet of material that includes printed features on one side of the sheet, each printed feature having a structural characteristic that is different from structural characteristics of a majority of the sheet. The system causes a molding machine to form the sheet using a mold, where at least one printed feature corresponds with an area of the mold at which the sheet deforms while being formed.

摘要: In this molded surface fastener, an engaging element includes a columnar stem portion, and micro pawl portions protruding outward from an upper end outer peripheral edge of the stem portion in a plan view of the engaging elements. A pawl width dimension of the micro pawl portions is smaller than a line segment connecting two points on the upper end outer peripheral edge of the stem portion. The micro pawl portions protrude toward a base portion. This molded surface fastener has a high peel strength and a shear strength with respect to a female surface fastener.

摘要: A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.
