A display device includes a display panel, and a light source configured to emit light onto the display panel. The display panel includes a bottom chassis including a binding portion. The display panel and the light source are disposed in the bottom chassis. The binding portion is configured to control a position of the display panel in the bottom chassis. The display device includes a mold frame configured to control a position of the bottom chassis disposed on the mold frame. The mold frame includes a binding groove aligned with the binding portion of the bottom chassis.

A backlight device is provided. A backlight device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a lower cover enclosing a light guide plate and having a bottom cover and a side cover; and a printed circuit board attached to the lower cover and mounted with the light source, wherein the first opening is formed in the lower cover. The light source is inserted into the first opening and is positioned on an inner surface of the lower cover, and the printed circuit board is positioned at the outer surface of the lower cover.

A display device is provided. The display device includes: a display panel; a light source assembly; a light guide plate (LGP); a mold frame; and a bottom chassis. The light source assembly includes a light source configured to generate light and a circuit board on which the light source is mounted. The LGP includes an incident surface upon which the light generated by the light source is incident and an exit surface configured to output the light incident through the incident surface toward the display panel. The mold frame includes a sidewall and a protrusion which protrudes inward from the sidewall. The bottom chassis includes a bottom portion and a sidewall portion and houses the mold frame, the LGP and the light source assembly. The display panel is placed on an upper surface of the protrusion, at least a portion of the circuit board is disposed between a lower surface of the protrusion and the bottom portion, and an upper surface of the light source does not overlap the protrusion.
