Abstract: A system for transmitting and receiving an event message is provided. The system comprises a transmitting terminal that generates an event message, and that transmits the event message and caller information, an event message service server that stores phonebook data after receiving the phonebook data transmitted from at least one terminal, that searches for a receiving terminal including the caller information in the phonebook data among receiving terminals included in the phonebook data of the transmitting terminal when receiving the event message, and that transmits the event message to the searched receiving terminal, and a receiving terminal that receives an event message transmitted by the event message service server, and informs its user of reception of the event message.
