Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and corresponding apparatus to operate transmitting and receiving nodes processing a packet including field position information. The packet includes field position information. Provided is the method for operating a transmitting node, including generating a packet comprising location information indicating information about a location corresponding to a field in the packet, and transmitting the packet including the position information.
Abstract:
A method of estimating a round-trip time (RTT) is provided. The method may include providing content requested by an interest packet with an identifier to identify a second node that sends the content to the first node, determining a processing time (PT) in which an interest packet is processed in the second node, based on an arrival time in which the content is received by the first node, evaluating an instantaneous RTT for the content received by the first node, based on an arrival time in which the content with the identifier is received at the first node, a sending time in which the interest packet is sent to the second node, or the determined PT, and estimating an RTT for the interest packet based on the evaluated instantaneous RTT.
Abstract:
A communication method and a communication apparatus in which a transmission terminal transmits packets to at least one reception terminal, a reception terminal overhears requests for lost packets from other reception terminals and determines whether another request for lost packets is to be transmitted, and the transmission terminal determines whether to respond to requests for lost packets based on additional packets multicast to the reception terminals, rather than simply responding to all requests for lost packets from the reception terminals.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to process interest messages and data messages based on priorities in a Content-Centric Network (CCN) are provided. The method and apparatus to process interest messages and data messages based on priorities in a CCN provides different Quality of Service (QoS) based on type of contents by extracting a traffic type of each of the contents.
Abstract:
A node and a method for generating a shortened name robust against a change in a hierarchical name in a Content-Centric Network (CCN) are provided. The method includes receiving a packet requesting content including a hierarchical name of the content, and determining whether a prefix of the hierarchical name is identical to a name of the node. The method further includes generating a shortened name by removing the prefix from the hierarchical name if the prefix is identical to the name component, and changing the hierarchical name to the shortened name. The shortened name is used to check whether the corresponding content is stored in the content cache, to check whether the same content-request packet is already under processing, and to decide an outgoing face to which the content-request packet is transmitted.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting a data packet from a content provider in a content-centric network CCN includes verifying whether a content request packet requesting a content identical to a content of a content request packet being received from a content requester is present in a pending interest table (PIT), increasing a value of a counter corresponding to the content request packet, comparing the value of the counter to a predetermined threshold value, and transmitting a data packet using a predefined broadcast media access control (MAC) address in response to the content request packet being received and the value of the counter being greater than or equal to the threshold value.
