Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided that includes a housing comprising a first surface facing a first direction, a second surface facing a second direction which is opposite to the first direction, and a transparent cover which forms at least part of the first surface, a display interposed between the first and second surfaces of the housing and exposed through the transparent cover, a first electrode interposed between the transparent cover and the display, a second electrode interposed between the first electrode and the display, a third electrode interposed between the second electrode and the display, a first dielectric layer interposed between the first and second electrodes, a second dielectric layer interposed between the second and third electrodes, and a processor configured to detect a location of a touch on the first surface using the first and second electrodes, and detect pressure on the first surface using the second and third electrodes.

The pressure sensor includes a first electrode plate having a first size and a first shape, a second electrode plate having a size and a shape that are the same as or similar to the first size and the first shape and facing the first electrode plate, a dielectric layer disposed in a first area between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, and a waterproof member disposed in a second area corresponding to a peripheral area of the first area and at least partially enclosing a space between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate.

The pressure sensor comprises: a first electrode layer formed substantially in parallel to the touch screen display; a second electrode layer spaced apart from the first electrode layer in the second direction and formed substantially in parallel to the first electrode layer; and a dielectric layer arranged between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. Other examples are also possible.
