    Abstract: A display arranged over a fingerprint sensor according to an embodiment of the disclosure may include a cover glass, a display panel arranged below the cover glass, a first driver that applies a signal to a first pixel group arranged in a first area corresponding to the fingerprint sensor on the display panel, a second driver that applies a signal to a second pixel group arranged in a second area that does not overlap the first area on the display panel, and a controller that causes the first driver to apply an enable signal to the first pixel group to enable the first driver to emit light when a finger touches a fingerprint sensing area corresponding to the fingerprint sensor on the cover glass.

    Abstract: A method of controlling power supply for a fingerprint sensor is provided. The method includes receiving sensor data obtained from the fingerprint sensor; determining whether the received sensor data is a fingerprint form of data; if the received sensor data is the fingerprint form of data, determining an amount of change in sensor data received over a predetermined time is greater than or equal to a predetermined value; and if the received sensor data is not the fingerprint form of data or if the received sensor data is the fingerprint form of data but an amount of change in the received sensor data is less than the predetermined value, allowing the fingerprint sensor to enter a power saving mode.

    Abstract: An electronic device includes a cover glass, a touch sensor disposed under the cover glass and sensing proximity of or contact by an external object, a touch integrated circuit (IC) electrically connected to the touch sensor, a fingerprint sensor disposed under the cover glass adjacent to the touch sensor, including an active area for sensing a biometric pattern of the external object and an inactive area surrounding a periphery of the active area, a fingerprint IC electrically connected to the fingerprint sensor, and a processor electrically connected to the touch IC and the fingerprint IC. The processor is configured, if an input by the external object is sensed by both the touch sensor and the fingerprint sensor, to calculate coordinates of the input based on at least part of data sensed by the touch sensor and data sensed by the fingerprint sensor.
