Abstract:
An apparatus and method for managing information in a mobile terminal are provided. The method includes selecting a first object to be linked, selecting a second object for linking with the first object, and linking the first object with the second object. By linking two objects, a user is better able to determine the context in which one or both object are known, thus improving usability of the information. Moreover, a descriptive tag may be used to link the two objects, thus providing additional information by which to associate one object with another object.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and user equipment for wireless communication using evolved data packet gateway (ePDG) communication. The method includes identifying one or more wireless access points and a received signal strength indication for each of the one or more wireless access points. The method also includes identifying which of the one or more wireless access points supports ePDG communication. The method also includes selecting a wireless access point of the one or more wireless access points based on the received signal strength indication and whether the wireless access point supports ePDG communication. The method also includes connecting to an ePDG server through the wireless access point.
Abstract:
A method of operating user equipment (UE) for detecting network capability. The method comprises identifying a preferred mode for a voice over long-term evolution (VoLTE) call handover operation from an LTE network to a non-LTE network in a first communication network. The preferred mode is associated with the first communication network. The method further comprises initiating a VoLTE call in a second communication network different than the first communication network, determining whether the second communication network is capable of supporting the preferred mode associated with the first communication network, and one of changing and maintaining the preferred mode based on a result of the determination.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE), method, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for fast VoWiFi handoff using internet key exchange (IKE) v2 optimization. The UE includes a memory and one or more processors operably connected to the memory, wherein the one or more processors are configured to determine reference signal received power (RSRP) for a long term evolution (LTE) signal and reference signal strength indicator (RSSI) for a WiFi signal, in response to at least the RSSI of the WiFi signal being greater than an RSSI threshold, perform a pre-setup of the IPsec tunnel, determine whether a handoff is to be performed, and in response to a determination that the handoff is to be performed, perform a completion of the IPsec tunnel.
Abstract:
User equipment (UE) includes a transceiver configured to transmit and receive information to/from a Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) access point. The UE includes processing circuitry coupled to the transceiver and configured to: determine a service provider associated with the WiFi access point based on a response to an ANQP query. The UE is configured to receive at least a portion of a management object (MO). The MO includes a trust field specifying whether the WiFi access point is trusted for WiFi offload by the service provider. The UE is configured to: in response to determining that the WiFi access point is trusted, send an L3 attach trigger. The UE is configured to: in response to determining that the WiFi access point is not trusted, establish an Internet Protocol security (IPsec) tunnel that the UE to an Evolved Packet Data Gateway through the untrusted WiFi access point.

Abstract:
A server, method, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for multi-endpoint design for IMS supported devices. The server includes a memory, a communication interface, and one or more processors operably connected to the memory and the communication interface. The one or more processors are configured to cause the communication interface to simultaneously transmit the incoming call to both (i) the primary device where IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) service is not supported based on user preference or operator policy and (ii) a secondary device, and transmit a message to the primary device to adaptively trigger IMS service for supporting multi-endpoint service.

Abstract:
An embodiment of this disclosure provides a user equipment (UE) for managing handovers between different networks. The UE includes a memory and at least one processor operably connected to the memory. The at least one processor is configured to establish security associations with an evolved data packet gateway (ePDG) over a Wi-Fi network. The at least one processor is also configured to indicate MOBIKE support and a specific timer value corresponding to a specific period of time for maintaining the security associations. The at least one processor is also configured to, after establishing the security associations, perform a handover from the Wi-Fi network to a long term evolution (LTE) network. The at least one processor is also configured to maintain the security associations for the specific period of time corresponding to the specific timer value after performing the Wi-Fi to LTE handover and disconnecting from the Wi-Fi network.
