    Abstract: A data storage device which exchanges multi-stream data with a host includes a nonvolatile memory device; a buffer memory configured to temporarily store data to be stored in the nonvolatile memory device or data read from the nonvolatile memory device; and a storage controller configured to receive from the host an access command for accessing segments of the multi-stream data, the accessing including reading the segments of the multi-stream data from or writing the segments of the multi-stream data to the nonvolatile memory device, wherein the storage controller is configured to store the access-requested segments in the buffer memory, the access-requested segments being the segments of data for which access is requested in the access command, the multi-stream data including a plurality of data streams that correspond respectively to a plurality of multi-stream indexes, the first multi-stream index being one of a plurality of multi-stream indexes.

A memory controller includes a command-unit workload calculator configured to calculate a workload by a unit of each command, based on resource consumption of a memory device, which is determined by performing at least one memory operation included in each of the commands, a user-unit workload calculator configured to calculate a workload caused by each of a plurality of users, based on the workload calculated by the unit of the command, and a command fetch unit configured to preferentially fetch, from a host, a command issued by a user who has caused a relatively small workload, based on calculation results of workloads of the plurality of users.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a storage device configured to receive a read command or a write command from a host device, the storage device comprising, a non-volatile memory device configured to store data, and a storage controller configured to operate at least one virtual machine to control the non-volatile memory device, store a workload threshold of the at least one virtual machine according to settings received from the host device, and send an asynchronous event interrupt to the host device based on the workload threshold, wherein the storage controller is further configured to, store the workload threshold for the at least one virtual machine, monitor read commands or write commands received from the host device to count and update a workload, and determine whether to send the asynchronous event interrupt based on the workload and the workload threshold.

    Abstract: A storage device includes: a nonvolatile memory including power loss protector (PLP) memory blocks configured to store at least one of meta data or user data for data backup; a buffer memory configured to store at least one of the meta data or the user data stored in the PLP memory blocks; a charging circuit configured to generate electric power for data backup in response to a sudden power off (SPO) occurrence, and transmit a first charging complete signal or a second charging complete signal to a processor according to a level of the electric power, and; and the processor configured to control at least one of the nonvolatile memory and the buffer memory to execute a first request from a host related to the meta data with priority in response to the first charging complete signal, and execute a second request from the host related to the meta data or the user data in response to the second charging complete signal.
