    Abstract: The binning method of an image sensor includes reading out a plurality of pixel signals from at least two rows of each of a plurality of areas of a pixel array at a time, each of the plurality of areas including a plurality of pixels arranged in a 2n×2n matrix, where n is an integer equal to or greater than 2; generating first image data by performing analog-to-digital conversion on the plurality of pixel signals; generating, based on the first image data, a first summation value of each of a plurality of binning areas based on two pixel values corresponding to a same color in each of the plurality of binning areas, the plurality of binning areas corresponding to the plurality of areas of the pixel array; and generating a second summation value of each of two binning areas based on two first summation values corresponding to a same color in the two binning areas, the two binning areas being adjacent to each other in a column direction among the plurality of binning areas.

    Abstract: An image sensor including a pixel array including a plurality of sub-pixels arranged along a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns, and k number of sub-pixels representing one color pixel in conjunction with each other, where k is an integer equal to or greater than four and calibration circuitry may be provided. The calibration circuitry may be configured to receive digital image signal generated based on pixel signals output from the pixel array, calculate a color gain of the digital image signal based on a coefficient set calculated based on a reference image signal generated by a reference image sensor under a first light source having a first color temperature, store coefficient sets associated with a plurality of color temperatures including the first color temperature, and apply the color gain to the digital image signal to generate a calibrated image signal.

    Abstract: A pixel array is provided. The pixel array includes: a plurality of pixels in a matrix, the plurality of pixels including a first pixel, a second pixel and a third pixel adjacent the second pixel; a plurality of micro lenses, the plurality of micro lenses including a first micro lens and a second micro lens. Each of the plurality of pixels includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements adjacent to each other in a first direction. The first micro lens extends across the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements of the first pixel, and the second micro lens extends in the first direction or a second direction across the second pixel and the third pixel.

    Abstract: A method of calibrating an image sensor includes obtaining a plurality of multi-light source images generated from a plurality of image sensor modules, wherein each of the plurality of image sensor modules generates at least three multi-light source images; obtaining, based on the plurality of multi-light source images, a plurality of crosstalk levels and a plurality of color-specific correction coefficients; generating modeling data based on a relationship between a crosstalk level for a first color and the plurality of color-specific correction coefficients; and obtaining, based on a single light source image captured by a first image sensor module and the modeling data, a color-specific correction coefficient for a target pixel of an image sensor, the image sensor being provided in the first image sensor module, and the color-specific correction coefficient being usable for correcting a crosstalk of the target pixel.
