摘要: A CPU of a controller of an imaging apparatus includes an imaging controller, a detection unit, and a focus adjustment unit. The imaging controller controls a readout operation of an image signal from an imaging element. The detection unit detects a target region of automatic focus control. The focus adjustment unit performs the automatic focus control based on the target region. In the readout operation, the imaging controller first thins out and reads out a signal for detection which is an image signal for detecting the target region, and reads out a residual image signal after an end of the thinning out and reading out.

摘要: An image capturing apparatus comprises: an image sensor with a plurality of pixels including focus detection pixels that output signals so as to be able to acquire a pair of focus detection signals having parallax based on light fluxes that have passed through mutually different pupil regions of an imaging optical system; a movement control unit that moves incident positions of the light fluxes on the image sensor; and a focus detection unit that performs phase difference focus detection using the pair of focus detection signals. The movement control unit moves the incident positions in a phase difference detection direction a plurality of cycles during an exposure period for acquiring the pair of focus detection signals, and the plurality of cycles of movement includes movement with a first amplitude and movement with a second amplitude different from the first amplitude.

摘要: An error is reduced in phase difference detection of an imaging element including a phase difference pixel with an on-chip lens in common for a pair of pixels. The imaging element includes a pixel, an individual on-chip lens, a plurality of phase difference pixels, a common on-chip lens, and a pixel circuit. The individual on-chip lens individually collects incident light for each pixel. The phase difference pixels are arranged adjacent to each other to detect a phase difference. The common on-chip lens is arranged in common for the plurality of phase difference pixels and collects incident light in common. The pixel circuit is formed in a semiconductor substrate and generates an image signal on the basis of a transferred charge. Charge transfer units of the plurality of phase difference pixels are in a region between the common on-chip lens and the individual on-chip lens.

摘要: An image-capturing device includes: an image sensor that includes an image capturing area where an image of a subject is captured; a setting unit that sets image capturing conditions to be applied to the image-capturing area; a selection unit that selects pixels to be used for interpolation from pixels present in the image-capturing area; and a generation unit that generates an image of the subject captured in the image-capturing area with signals generated through interpolation executed by using signals output from the pixels selected by the selection unit, wherein: the selection unit makes a change in selection of at least some of the pixels to be selected depending upon the image-capturing conditions set by the setting unit.

摘要: A method and device for predictive autofocus on an object are provided. The method includes capturing an image of a target object to be tracked by a user of camera of a device, selecting a region of interest (ROI) corresponding to a target point of the captured image of the target object, initializing a target object tracker via input of the selected ROI at i-th frame, where i=1, updating the target object tracker based on data at previous (i−1)th frame for i-th frame, where i>1, determining current camera lens position for the tracked target object at current frame, when the target object is out of the camera focus, determining disparity for the selected ROI at i-th frame from previously collected data defining dependence of distance between the target object and lens surface on the camera lens position, determining delta lens position to focus the camera on the target object as a function of disparity and current lens position or target object position in the frame by a computing unit, calculating predicted target object position and delta lens position for N future frames from coordinates of current ROI and current delta lens position, and providing predicted autofocus in real time.
