摘要： A layered envirochromic material is described herein that contains at least one substrate or surface material; at least one base layer coupled to the at least one substrate or surface material; and at least one envirochromic layer coupled to the at least one base layer. Methods of producing the layered envirochromic materials include providing a surface or substrate; applying at least one base layer component on to the surface; curing the at least one base layer component to form a base layer; applying at least one envirochromic layer component on to the surface; and curing the at least one envirochromic layer component to form the envirochromic layer. Additional methods include providing a surface or substrate; applying at least one base layer component on to the surface; applying at least one envirochromic layer component on to the at least one base layer component; and curing the at least one base layer component and at least one envirochromic layer component to form the layered material.

摘要： An illuminator and a method for fabricating the illuminator are disclosed. The illuminator comprises at least a light source and a discriminator. The light source comprises one or more luminescent layers that substantially convert the energy of a primary electromagnetic radiation to an output radiation. The discriminator comprises one or more layers that substantially transmit the primary electromagnetic radiation to the one or more luminescent layers and reflect at least a portion of the output radiation from the one or more luminescent layers to the viewing hemisphere. A method for applying the illuminator to an object is also disclosed.

摘要： An illuminator and a method for fabricating the illuminator are disclosed. The illuminator comprises at least a light source and a discriminator. 摘要： In order to provide a golf ball with a water immersion indicator, a golf ball with indicia or a particular recognizable color is overlain with an opacification layer that provides a mask over the indicia or the colored ball until such time as the ball has been immersed in water for a predetermined period of time affecting the ball's performance. The opacification layer when removed or otherwise made transparent, while providing for a change in the appearance of the golf ball upon water immersion, does not need to have a layer or indicia which changes color in reaction to the infusion of water. Rather the opacification layer is either removed or made transparent to expose an underlying colored surface or a surface bearing pre-determined indicia, thus to alter the appearance of the ball when it has been immersed in water for a period of time which affects golf ball properties. The subject system provides an easy way to make indicia visible upon water immersion since one does not have to create the indicia in response to water activation, but rather uncover already-printed indicia due to the removal or transparency of the opacification layer. Opacification reduction or elimination is accomplished through a number of physical processes involving a water-activated binder and either insoluble pigment particles, effervescing bubbles, the use of transparent oils, agglomeration or the complete or partial removal of the opacification layer.

摘要： The present invention provides for photoluminescent optical fibers that are used to illuminate sighting reticles. The fibers are activated by electromagnetic radiation and emit electromagnetic radiation of various wavelengths at high intensity and for long periods of time. The emission from the photoluminescent fiber can only be seen coming from one terminal end of the fiber, which is designed to be positioned inside the sighting device to illuminate a reticle. The photoluminescent fiber contains a base optical fiber which is covered at least in part by a photoluminescent composition which itself is fully covered by a second composition that allows the activating electromagnetic radiation to pass through to activate the photoluminescent layer while preventing the emissive electromagnetic radiation of the photoluminescent layer from passing back through.
