摘要: In an airbag inflatable inside a seating portion of a vehicle's seat, the design flexibility, in terms of shape and height, of the airbag in an inflated state is increased. An airbag device (1) includes an airbag (10) and an inflator (2). The airbag (10) is disposed inside a seating portion of a seat and is inflated under a seated occupant. The inflator (2) generates gas to inflate and deploy the airbag (10). The airbag (10) includes an upper base fabric piece (11), a lower base fabric piece (12), and a pair of side base fabric pieces (13), which are joined to one another and form an air chamber (14) therein. The pair of side base fabric pieces (13) are disposed at part of side portions between the upper base fabric piece (11) and the lower base fabric piece (12) and define the shape of the air chamber (14) in an inflated state.

摘要: An air bagged vehicle seat is reduced in weight while the strength thereof is maintained. The vehicle seat is provided with an airbag device which is disposed inside the sitting portion of the vehicle seat and is inflated under the seated occupant. The vehicle seat is provided with a seat pan (50), a first support pipe (40) , and seat rails (10) fixed to the floor. The seat pan (50) is provided with a recess for housing the airbag, and a protruding bent section (50A) extending in the left-right direction of the vehicle. The first support pipe (40) is disposed on the rear side of the protruding bent section (50A) so as to extend therealong. The first support pipe (40) is configured in such a manner that the first support pipe (40) is bent in a forward and downward direction of the vehicle and the leg sections (42) of the first support pipe (40) are fastened to the seat rails.

摘要: An airbag device configured to be disposed in an instrument panel includes an inflator configured to generate gas, and an airbag that includes a gas inlet through which the gas from the inflator is introduced and is inflated and deployed in a bag shape toward a vehicle room side by the gas introduced from the inflator through the gas inlet. The airbag has, in an upper portion thereof, an extra length in a front and rear direction of a vehicle and is folded in a housed state after experiencing a folded state in an approximately planar fashion such that the extra length portion is tucked into the airbag toward the rear of the vehicle.

摘要: To enhance an occupant restraining force of an airbag, and to improve a protective function for an occupant of an airbag device by discharging gas without fail regardless of a position of the occupant, an airbag (10) is divided into a first chamber (10A) on an inflator (2) side and a second chamber (10B) on an occupant side by a partition wall (11), and the first chamber (10A) includes an opening (23) to which a discharge-state switching member (30) having vent holes to discharge the gas in the airbag (10) and being switchable between the discharge/non-discharge states is attached. The discharge-state switching member (30) is coupled to the partition wall (11) by a tether belt (40), so that the tether belt (40) applies tension to close the vent holes when the airbag (10) inflates, and when the airbag (10) receives an occupant, releases the tension depending on the position of the receipt, and opens the vent holes.

A passenger airbag device (1) installed in a top surface of an instrument panel (20) has, on an instrument panel side (back surface side) of an inflated and deployed cushion (10), a projecting portion (10b) that serves as support means when an occupant moves forward therein, and recesses (10c and 10d) provided adjacent to the projecting portion (10b). The volume of the cushion (10) is reduced by providing the recesses (10c and 10d), and the behavior of the airbag device in an inflated and deployed state is stabilized by the projecting portion (10b).

The present invention is a method of producing a cushion (10) of a passenger airbag device (1) having a portion with a desired curvature by sewing side edges of base fabric pieces constituting a main panel (12) and left and right side panels (14) together. The main panel (12) and the side panels (14) are sewn together so as to form a rectangular opening, whose short sides have a length equal to the width of the side panels (14) and whose long sides have a length equal to the width of the main panel (12), at a position where stitches in the main panel (12) and side panels (14) start or end. Then, the portion with a desired curvature is formed by folding the short sides toward the opening and sewing the short sides and the long sides together.
