Abstract:
The present invention relates to blooming type cleaning compositions comprising natural oil. More particularly, the present invention relates environmentally acceptable, blooming natural oil cleaning compositions which achieve product stability and clarity with essentially one natural oil, such as orange oil, without the addition of a blooming agent such as pine oil, amine oxides, amphoteric surfactants or phenolic solvents.
Abstract:
Provided is sampling and testing device for the detection of specific molds, allergens, viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other protein containing substances. Embodiments of the device include a sampling member slideably engaged with a base that contains a lateral flow strip adapted to detect specific analytes of interest. The sampling member defines a solvent reservoir that stores an elution solvent in a fluid-tight manner before the device is used to sample and test environmental surfaces. During slideable withdrawal of the sampling member from the base, the elution solvent stored in the reservoir is automatically released to a wick assembly of the sampling member. The wick assembly includes a wick adapted to receive, distribute, and retain the elution solvent. After a user samples an environmental surface for an analyte of interest with the elution solvent wetted wick, the sampling member is returned to the base where the wick contacts the lateral flow strip contained in the base. The wick transfers at least a portion of analyte and the elution solvent to the lateral flow strip for the calorimetric detection of specific allergens, viruses, bacteria, and other protein containing substances in the sample. The colorimetric results of the test are displayed through a window in the base.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a class of detergent compositions for use in hand dishwashing that provides excellent performance as measured by persistence of foam in the presence of oily and fatty types of soils. Testing based on escalating amounts of such soils to the extinction of the foam showed surprising advantage of hand dishwashing composition comprising at least two anionic surfactants and a polyethylene glycol and being essentially free of alkyl polyglucosides.
Abstract:
Methods, improved compositions and kits are employed that provide dosing and cleaning solutions containing a halogen-based oxidant effectively delivered to remediate microfloral and biofilm development on the laundering surfaces of enclosed horizontal axis washers. The improved compositions, and the methods and kits employing them, provide for effective remediation while minimizing and/or preventing detrimental effects upon halogen-susceptible surfaces of the laundering devices, including reduced corrosion and biofilm on interior metal and laundering surfaces.

Abstract:
Provided is sampling device and method for the detection of an analyte of interest on an environmental surface. The sampling device includes a first reservoir adapted to contain a first liquid, a second reservoir adapted to contain a second liquid, a swab holder coupled to the first reservoir and the second reservoir, a swab disposed within the swab holder, and an activation member coupled to the first and second reservoirs opposite the swab holder. After the swab is used to collect a sample from an environmental surface, and upon application of an activation force on the activation member, the first and second reservoirs are placed in fluid communication with the swab holder and the first and second liquids flow into the swab holder to contact the swab. The swab develops an indicator color if the sample of the environmental surface contained the analyte of interest.
