    摘要: A video publishing and viewing system that allows the user to select a video on the user's network or on the Internet and produce a hierarchical menu describing the video content. The editing user can perform the entire process of selecting the video, creating the hierarchical menu along with descriptive text, and uploading the file from the same system, which is run entirely in a Web browser. The produced index is independent of the file formats as well as different play rates (low and high bandwidth). The same index appears for all viewings (or listenings) of the file. The system includes an auto-export feature that allows external search engines to look inside the video menu and make the video itself clickable and searchable as if it were a book (through the menu). The system also allows the user to build on already annotated videos by creating a new program from program fragments (hierarchical menu items) such that destructive video editing is not required.

    摘要: Total harmonic distortion (THD) at the AC line input of a power factor corrected (PFC) flyback switch mode power supply (SMPS) is reduced by adding additional current injection to the current programming signal of a PFC controller during the period of the line cycle where the AC input current wave shape is most flattened, i.e., around the peak portion of the AC line voltage. The input current drawn by the PFC flyback SMPS will then more closely resemble a desired sinusoidal waveform. A voltage dependent non-linear resistance is coupled in parallel with the normal current injection resistor that supplies current to the PFC flyback controller multiplier input to inject appropriate values of additional current into the PFC flyback controller based upon the AC input voltage value(s) so as to better shape the AC input current to the desired sinusoidal waveform.

    摘要: A circuit for dimming a lamp is provided. The circuit includes a triac dimmer that adjusts the voltage level of an input AC waveform based on the setting of a dimmer switch. The output of the dimmer is provided to a power supply circuit that drives the lamp based on the voltage level at the dimmer output. The power supply circuit includes a compensation circuit that compensates for loss of dimmer output signal caused by the triac when the dimmer switch is adjusted for full output. The compensation circuit is configured to engage at dimmer output voltage levels between full power supply voltage and a voltage threshold. The voltage threshold may be based on the dimmer output voltage level when the dimmer switch is set for full output. The compensation circuit essentially disengages to allow the lamp to dim when the dimmer output voltage level falls below the threshold.

In one embodiment, the system includes a text insertion means connected between a video camera and monitor, a control means connected to the text insertion means, and a playback means operatively associated with the text insertion means and control means. Other embodiments include a video camera substitution system having a fixed video camera and a pan-tilt video camera and a video recorder substitution system having a plurality of alternate VRDs. In another embodiment, the system includes a programmable equalizer having a plurality of video input devices, a video output receiver, a switch connected between the input devices and receiver, a variable equalizer connected between the switch and receiver, and a controller storing line loss parameters for each input device, thereby providing equalization among a plurality of video cameras, monitors, and video signal recording devices.
