Abstract: Method of utilizing a nanochannel in combination with at least one magnetic sensor for detecting (e.g., identifying) molecules, cells, and other analytes. Abstract: The presently disclosed technology is directed to maximizing cleanliness, reliability, and space efficiency within a jukebox-style HDD, while minimizing overall cost of the HDD. In an effort to reduce the movement of a robotic arm assembly, cassettes within a jukebox-style HDD may be configured to be magnetically repositionable to replace some of the movement of the robotic arm assembly, without adding another significant source of potential mechanical failure within the HDD enclosure. Further, the overall number of moving parts is reduced, which may improve reliability of the HDD, as well as cleanliness within the HDD enclosure.

Abstract: Methods of DNA sequencing from a template strand via DNA polymerase immobilized on a magnetic sensor. The methods include forming a complementary strand by the DNA polymerase from individual magnetic nanoparticle (MNP)-labeled nucleotides, and obtaining a signal from the magnetic sensor to identify the MNP and thus the nucleotide. The process can be repeated until the entire complementary strand is formed and identified.

Abstract: A data storage system include a disk drive having a rotating ramp assembly that may be moved between an engaged and disengaged position. The rotating ramp assembly may include a ramp extension that is not disposed in overlapping relation to a data storage disk location in the drive when in the disengaged position. However, in the engaged position, the ramp extension may overhang a portion of the data storage disk location. In turn, the head extension may include a ramp surface that allows a head assembly to move to a head parking surface when the rotating ramp assembly is in the engaged position. IN turn, the rotating ramp assembly may be rotated while maintaining the head assembly on the head parking surface, which may be arcuate and extend about at least a portion of the rotating ramp assembly.
