The communication apparatus performs communication using a communication cable including plural sets of paired wires each of which has two core wires, and includes: an interface unit (310) connectable to the communication cable; a measuring unit (320) which obtains measurement values by measuring a value indicating a state of each set of the paired wires included in the communication cable connected to the interface unit (310); and an error information output unit (330) which outputs error information indicating an error in the communication cable when the measured values obtained by the measuring unit (320) are substantially different.
