    摘要： The invention is directed to a night vision system that has an illuminator that transmits light towards a target using light outside the visible spectrum. A receive optics focuses an image on a charge coupled device. This system with an ultraviolet illuminator allows the night vision system to view images beyond 2500 meters, while present systems are limited to around 800 meters. The illuminator is generally a high peak power pulsed light source. A processor uses frame addition techniques to increase the captured light and may use binning techniques to increase the signal to noise ratio. The system may use multiple illuminators and capture images at a number of different wavelengths.

    摘要： A firearm projectile includes a precision-machined outer component having a generally cylindrical body, a tip at the forward end of the body, a base at the rear end of the body, and a precision-machined cavity machined into the outer component. A precision-machined inner component is pressed into the cavity. The outer component includes a homogenous material that is softer than firearm barrel steel. The inner component includes a material having a higher density than the outer component and a higher density than an armor plate, such as solid tungsten, tungsten carbide and potential some Nanotechnology materials such as NanoSteel™. A cap may be attached to the outer component to seal the inner component inside the cavity. The cavity can be machined from the front or rear end of the outer component. The cap fits into the rear of the projectile or may be a bullet tip. The cavity and the inner component may be cylindrical or tapered.

    摘要： An elongated plunger is slidably connected at one end with one end of a sleeve for telescoping movement into the sleeve. The other end portion of the sleeve releasably supports a cannula to be inserted at one end through the skin and stomach wall of a bloated animal. Flexible wing members on the pointed end portion of the cannula normally maintains the inserted end portion of the cannula within the animal's stomach. A stop, slidably surrounding the other end portion of the cannula, maintains one end portion of the cannula projecting outwardly of the animal's skin.

    摘要： A split head hammer including a head (4) from one end of which a replaceable hammer shaft (2) projects, comprising two head parts (4A, 4B) which can be connected to grip a pair of striking pieces (11) and the shaft (2), the shaft being sunk fully within the head. The head grips the shaft at a plurality of circumferentially-shaped positions (70). Striking pieces suitable also for use in other designs of hammer e.g. solid head and having a rearward extension (46) of smaller section than the open end (21) of the socket can be retained in the socket by plastic flow and/or by a separate retainer, preferably an annular metal washer (50, 60) usefully toroidal (60). Not only the striking pieces (11) but also the shaft (2) can be simply replaced by the user, notwithstanding that the hammer is suited to heavy-duty use.
