摘要： An automatic dial device transmits a dial signal to a telephone line. A facsimile signal receiver serves to receive a response facsimile signal from the telephone line. An image signal is transmitted from an image data store unit to the telephone line in cases where the facsimile signal receiver receives a response facsimile signal during a predetermined period after the automatic dial device transmits a dial signal. The telephone line is opened in cases where a busy signal is detected by a busy signal detector during the predetermined period after the automatic dial device transmits a dial signal. The telephone line is opened in cases where the busy signal detector continues to not detect a busy signal during the predetermined period after the automatic dial device transmits a dial signal. A communication failure is indicated in cases where the busy signal detector continues to not detect a busy signal during the predetermined period after the automatic dial device transmits a dial signal.

摘要： A facsimile apparatus includes a recording-paper feeding mechanism for feeding a recording paper. A setting device serves to set whether or not saving the recording paper is required. A receiving device serves to receive image information. A printing head serves to sequentially print line parts of an image, which is represented by the received image information, on the recording paper. In cases where the setting device sets a requirement of saving the recording paper, the recording-paper feeding mechanism is controlled so as to reduce a distance by which the recording paper is fed with respect to one line part of the image.

In response to the output demand of the guidance information through an inputting unit, a control unit obtains a distance to the intersection and an advancing direction in the intersection and further reads out the corresponding sound data from a sound storing unit. This sound data is outputted through a speech synthesizing unit and a voice outputting unit.

摘要： The present invention provides a single information recording and reproducing apparatus that is used to record data to multiple disks that are to be recorded on using different wavelengths. More specifically, the present invention provides an apparatus that accurately discriminates disk types while preventing disk damage and accidental recording of data during the disk type discrimination operation. The disk type is determined using the intensity of light reflected from the disk. Information is encoded using an encoder corresponding to the disk type. The resulting signal is used to drive a laser corresponding to the disk type, and information is recorded.

摘要： A surface mounting type of connector for IC cards has a connector main body having two sets of electric contacts for connection to electric contacts of respective connectors provided in two IC cards. Contact portions of each set of the electric contacts are disposed in two rows in one direction to lie in a direction perpendicular to the one direction. The connector main body has a fitting recess formed in a lower portion thereof. Terminal portions of the two sets of electric contacts are arranged so as to lie exposed in two rows parallel to each other along facing side walls of the fitting recess. A terminal member having two parallel rows of terminal pieces to be connected to a wiring circuit board is fitted into the fitting recess such that the terminal pieces urgingly contact the terminal portions.
