摘要: A liquid crystal display device restraining display defects even in a structure having a potential difference between an externally-connected electrode potential and the mean potential of the drive waveform of a liquid crystal material. An electrostatic charge stored in the vicinity of a liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal display device as a result of the potential difference between an externally-connected electrode potential and the mean potential of the drive waveform of the liquid crystal material is dispersed by employing a capacitor or an arrester connected to ground. Accordingly, discharge of the stored charge is facilitated, and occurrence of display defects is restrained.

摘要: In a work machine equipped with a switchover means enabling selective operation of traveling devices and a work device by means of common operating levers, switchover can easily be performed and also easily recognized. In a work machine having traveling devices and a work device, operating levers that are capable of operating the traveling devices and the work device are respectively disposed at the sides of an operating seat. A foot switch connected to a controller is disposed in the proximity of and operable with a foot of an operator seated at the operating seat. While the foot switch is being operated with the foot, the traveling devices are operated by the operating levers through the controller. While the foot switch is not being operated, the work device is operated by means of the operating levers through the controller.

摘要: An optical pickup 200 is arranged between optical discs 10A and 10B rotatably supported with the recording surfaces 10Aa and 10Ba facing each other, the optical pickup being movable along the recording surfaces 10Aa and 10Ba. A laser beam of two wavelengths emitted from a semiconductor laser 201 is respectively reflected in opposite directions by a polarized beam splitter. The reflected laser beams are respectively condensed on the recording surfaces 10Aa and 10Ba via objective lenses, and the laser beam traveling back along the same optical axis is received and processed. No moving member is required, which enables downsizing.

摘要: In a display apparatus for presentation including an image display device 30 that allows for moving a selection marker across a plurality of menu items arranged in vertical and horizontal directions and displayed on a screen 1 in accordance with received angular velocity information, a menu item to which the selection marker should be moved is determined in accordance with the number of cycles of angular velocity sampling during which the move distance of the pointing device obtained for every sampling cycle from the angular velocity information exceeds a predetermined value continuously. This improved the inconvenience to use with a conventional pointing device in which a distance by which an object should be moved on the display screen is proportional to the entire distance over which the pointing device was moved, calculated from angular velocity; thus, the operator has to tilt the remote controller incorporating a gyroscope to a large extent to move the object by a long distance on the screen.

摘要: A record medium reproduction unit has a main casing, a transfer device, a pair of sensing pins, a sensing device, and a decision device. The transfer device transfers a larger disk record medium and a smaller disk record medium into and out of the main casing. The sensing pins are movable toward and away from each other and each contact an outer edge of the larger disk record medium when the larger disk record medium enters the main casing. The decision device determines which is inserted into the main casing, the larger disk record medium, the smaller disk record medium, or a special form record medium such as a card-shaped CD based on information supplied from the pair of sensing pins.

摘要: A stepping motor driving system includes: a stepping motor that rotates at a predetermined angle according to a driving pulse signal, a vibration detector that detects vibration to output a vibration signal, and a stepping motor control unit that controls the driving pulse signal, which is applied to the stepping motor, to rotate the stepping motor at the predetermined angle. The driving pulse signal includes a start-up current which is required for rotating the stepping motor at a unit angle and a holding current which maintains a rotational angle of the stepping motor rotated by the start-up current. The stepping motor control unit changes the level of the holding current according to the vibration signal which is outputted from the vibration detector.
