In a printing apparatus using a plurality of heating elements as printing elements, there are provided CCD elements for storing electric charges whose quantity correspond to temperatures in correspondence to each of the printing elements, and for sequentially transferring these electric charges. As a printing head driving apparatus, an analog shift register having a series of CCD elements is employed in order to perform data transfer operation, data alignment, and driving operations of the respective printing elements. Also, the above-described CCD elements are commonly used with CCD elements for storing and transferring temperature data. As a result, a compact printing apparatus can be made while suppressing shading in images caused by temperature increasing due to the driving operation of the printing elements.

To this end, air currents 11 generated by the ejection of ink and the interference among the air currents 11 are reduced by blowing out gas in a direction parallel with the direction of the ink ejection. With the method of manufacture thus arranged, it is possible to provide an ink jet recording head capable of performing stable discharges for a long-term use with the incorporation of such elastic member portion in the liquid chamber to absorb the pressure vibration caused by the performance of ink discharges and to suppress the resultant vibrations of menisci at the discharge ports.

A method for manufacturing an ink jet printing head comprises a step of joining together a base board having ink discharge pressure generating elements, which also forms the bottom of a plurality of ink paths, and a ceiling plate that forms the ceiling portion of the plurality of ink paths in order to provide an ink jet printing head. In this method, either one of the joining portions between the base board and ceiling plate is Si and the other one of them is metal, and after each of the joining portions is irradiated by an energy particle, the base board and the ceiling plate are made in contact and cold joined by the application of cold activation. With the method of manufacture thus provided, it is possible to make the intensity of joint between the ceiling plate and base board firmer so as to eliminate any gaps between them, hence preventing the creation of cross talk phenomenon, and the degradation of quality of printed images as well.
