摘要: An acoustic detection of a discrete acoustic signal allows to detect a leak behind a casing (23) of a borehole. An acoustic amplitude (AA) is sampled during a recording time period (24; 64) at a determined position along the tube. Time intervals (26; 66) are defined inside of the recording time period (24), and for each time interval (26) the measured acoustic amplitudes are processed to obtain respectively a corresponding power-frequency spectrum (261). A plurality of the power-frequency spectra are analyzed to identify the discrete acoustic signal by detecting time and frequency dependant changes of power. Preferably the processing involves a Fourier transform analysis. A power-frequency time plot is used to conveniently identify the discrete acoustic event.

摘要: The external surface of a tubular body such as well casing is coated with a substance that, upon exposure to cement, is unstable and degrades. After installation in a subterranean well and subsequent cementation, the coating degrades and forms a gap between the external surface of the tubular body and the cement sheath. Forming the gap is useful for obtaining optimal stimulation during the hydraulic fracturing of unconventional shale-gas formations.

摘要: Compositions containing an alkali swelling polymer and a pH buffer with a pH between 3 and 7 may be used to treat a wellbore. The pH buffer prevents the swelling of the alkali swellable polymer. The compositions may be placed in the wellbore, whereupon they contact another material with pH increasing properties. The pH of the compositions increases, causing the compositions to swell and form a seal. The alkali swelling polymer may be an alkali swelling latex.

摘要: A sealant composition, comprising an alkali metal silicate and a calcium containing inorganic compound, wherein the particles of the calcium containing compound have a mean particle size that is submicron, is useful for sealing cracks, fissures and voids in subterranean wells, thereby restoring zonal isolation. The mean particle size of the calcium containing compound is preferably smaller than 100 nm.

摘要: Disclosed is a cement composition comprising polymeric particles with inorganic fillers for application in oil well cementing. The fillers improve bonding between the polymeric particles and the cement matrix leading to improved mechanical parameters of the cement system. The filled particles may also lead to improved mixability and slurries that are easier to optimise.

摘要: This invention relates to a method and to a tool to consolidate a wellbore by displacing conventional cement slurry or any other settable fluid, without any permanent casing. A bladder is inflated inside the bore to act as a mold and to form an annulus that can be filled by cement slurry or any other settable fluid. When the cement or the resin is set, the form is retrieved by straight pull; leaving a cement or resin sheath to support the formation without requiring any re-dulling. The sheath can be perforated if necessary (in the producing zone). Applications include without limitations temporary cementation of mono-diameter wells, through-tubing repair of an open hole, or cementation of a slotted liner in water, oil or gas wells

摘要: A water absorbing composition includes a particle having a core of a water-swelling material. A coating substantially surrounds the core that temporarily prevents contact of water with the water-swelling material. The coating may be formed from a layer of water degradable material or a non-water-degradable, non-water absorbent encapsulating layer. A quantity of particles including delayed water-swelling particles formed at least in part from a water-swelling material and, optionally, non-water-swelling particles of the same or different size distributions can be used in treating a formation penetrated by a wellbore. A slurry of the particles is formed with a carrier fluid. The slurry of particles is introduced into the wellbore of the formation to facilitate treatment.

摘要: A method of consolidating a fracture in a formation comprises injecting a solution of an alkali metal silicate into the formation causing the solution to react with the surfaces of the calcium containing inorganic compound deposits, locking the fine material on these surfaces in place and preventing fines generation during production in a well.
